Women's Trail Model 4 Hiking Shoes, Ventilated is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 371.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from nice looking The toebox is not wide enough, I wear an 81/2 these were tight so order 9 way to big. I am on feet all day and would not recommend these.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Solid hiking shoes Strong, heavy, runs a bit large (I got 8.5, might well have done better with 8), softens up, probably will last forever. I put Neat's-foot oil all over it, made the suede dark, and replaced laces with dark gray, so the effect is more formal, surely more waterproof. Good solid shoes and handsome for hiking!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Traction Would give this shoe a higher rating if they were just a bit lighter (seem heavy for a hiker). Also a bit more support interior. They have great traction and don’t really need a break-in period.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This Shoe is Now MUCH CHEAPER If you are used to wearing the Trail Model 4 shoe or boot as I have for many years, these will now disappoint. The support is gone. If you look at the side view of this shoe there are two bands of suede - there used to be three. There is the toe cap but it no longer has the suede piece that covers the top toe area of the shoe, not good. The lacing is not as strong because the reduced suede on the sides affects the lacing, so there is one less support from 3 down to 2 and instead of the strong suede threading loops, there are the smaller ribbon loops - not as good. When you put the shoe on you can instantly feel the lack of support. The foot bed feels the same and it appears the sole is still as thick and firm as before, so good for rocks/off trail hiking. Also the back heel had more suede supports sewn in on your old shoe, those are redesigned and do not feel as supportive around your ankle. My feeling is these are not $100 shoes but $50-$60 sneakers comparable to Brooks or Columbia. These will be my last pair of LLBean footwear and I strongly doubt they will last long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don’t hesitate. These are great for walking. These shoes fit very well. I needed something that functions like a tennis shoe and these do. They are a wee bit heavier than I would prefer but, they are great for walking. I think they would classify as a hiking tennis shoe.
