Women's L.L.Bean UPF 50+ Sun Shirt is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from UPF Shirt I purchased a couple of these shirts about 4 or more years ago. I'm still using them and love them for wearing during tennis in S. CÁ. The newer version is a heavier fabric, runs bigger and most importantly is way too dark for the hot weather. Also the color is more of a deep purple. I liked the color but not for the hot sunny days where I live. I would normally exchange it for a smaller size but the very dark color is a deal breaker. The older shirts I bought were a size medium and fit great. I weight 133 and am 5'7" tall with a small bustline. The medium in the newer version just kind of hangs on me. not very flattering at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for sunburns This top did exactly what I was hoping it would. I took it on a camping / boating trip and I got sunburned the first day so I wore the top the next days and it kept me protected from further sunburn AND it kept me cool in the scorching heat. I wore it skiing and swimming in the lake and kept it on the entire day. I was really REALLY skeptical about putting on a long sleeve shirt in 94 degree weather but to my surprise, it actually kept me cooler than not having it on. I wash it in the washing machine and lay flat to dry. It is perfect and will be an essential packing item for our next camping / boating trips.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Multipurpose sun jersey Usually I wear a button or snap front sun shirt, but this is more like a rashguard-type jersey. And it is multipurpose. Not only does it go nicely (beachgrass) with my new swimsuit (classic watercolor), it is a nice light reflective shade that can be used hiking, canoeing, rafting, or any other outdoor exercise. The medium runs comfortably big! This shirt is roomy and on the boxy side, not form fitting. I worry that the fabric could snag—but it is a bit too soon to tell. Because I’m sometimes between LLBean sizes, I also ordered the shirt in Large in Cobalt (great color!), but that shirt is huge, so it is being returned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Bit Pricey But Worth It This shirt is marketed as a sun blocker, but I could wear it anywhere. The overall quality is excellent, particularly the fabric which feels wonderfully cool against my skin and, despite being 100% synthetic, is not at all clammy in warm weather. The nautical striped versions are right on trend, and the neckline is just what I was looking for, not the currently fashionable boat or ballet necks which can create bra strap issues. I haven't washed it yet, but it looks like it will hang dry quickly, so that not being able to throw it in the dryer won't be a problem. All in all, appears to be worth the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best shirt ever! Versatile- sun & wind protection. I purchased the shirt for sun protection for my Florida vacation. The color , fit, and usefulness was great. Not only was I protected from the sun while at the pool or walking down the beach, it was a good wind barrier too.. The shirt is really comfortable. I never got hot while wearing it.. I washed the shirt in cool water and hung to dry , it is looking just like new., This was the best purchase I made for my vacation, in fact, of the three new things I bought, the only one I wore. This was a great buy and great value. I will wear it many more times this summer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cobalt floral pattern is pretty! Nice swim shirt! I ordered an X-Large swim shirt as I saw that it was 22% spandex. I figured the shirt would fit tighter. Normally, I would order a Large but I don't want anything too tight so I went with the X-Large. The shirt arrived and I LOVE the cobalt floral pattern, but it is too big for me. I am disappointed because the size Large shirts are sold out online!! I would advise to not size up when ordering. Order your usual size. The shirt seems wonderful -- wish I could keep it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I like it, but... it clearly says to hand wash. However, I did not see that, but I would rather wear this shirt and hand wash instead of lathering sun tan lotion on. I wish I could just throw it in the washing machine, but again, I am willing to take this extra step for sun protection. I purchased a medium and that is the size I wear - fits well...nice color (blue)...protects from the sun.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Runs large... This shirt runs large - I should have bought a size smaller. If that had been the only problem I probably would have bought the smaller size, but there was puckering where the neck band was attached which I didn't like. It is also much heavier material than my other sun protection shirts - undoubtedly fine for Maine but not so great for hot Texas summers!
