Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best raincoat I've ever owned I've had this jacket for a year now and love it. It does thje job I bought it to do; keep me dry while working or backpacking. I've worn it on several trips and have been very pleased with the durability and performance of the jacket. I love the extended visor as it really helps keep the water out of your face and most importantly, off your glasses. It packs small as well. I owned a Marmot Precip prior to this jacket and it less than a year the inside covering was flaking off. The stowaway jacket is much better, more comfortable and durable than the high priced Precip. I would buy again and have recommended it to several of my backpacking buddies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value -- excellent reliability Today, shopping for a raincoat for my daughter, I was reminded how great this jacket has been. I've had it for 5 or 6 years as my main 3 season jacket. It still looks brand new, in spite of having been skiing, fell walking (and scree sliding) in the Lake District, to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, and through multiple Cleveland winters. It fits well over a fleece or down vest to make it work most of the year. It travels small and well and repels water as efficiently today as when it was new. If you wear it in significant rain you will want rain pants, as the drip line falls at front pocket level (where I tend to keep my phone). This is a terrific product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good shell Used this for the first time yesterday on a hike with my daughter. It stows away nicely on its own pocket and is light weight for a hiker. It made for a nice windbreaker at the top, and when a shower came thru it was great to keep me dry. The hood rolls up as a collar if I don't want/need it. I especially like the brim on the hood. I can see if I get caught in a downpour, It would hold it's shape well, keeping the water off my face and keeping my visibility clear. I have plenty of extra room to wear a fleece under it for warmth if needed. The blue color is classy yet nicely visible if you needed to attract attention.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just perfect I have now been using this jacket for over 4 months. Everything I needed it has fulfilled. I ordered a L tall size. It is nice and long. Gives good coverage in rain & wind. I am lean and wanted to be able to layer under for colder weather or wear in the southern states during normal winter rainy weather. Plenty roomy. It has met all my needs from Alaska to Florida weather. I stay dry all day. It is remarkable in that is does not take on odors in smoky or otherwise smelly environments. The soft fabric collar band on the inside of the neck is a comfortable bonus. It was pricier than all the other jackets I considered but I use it for everything to not get wet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dry as a bone Got to try this yesterday for its intended purpose when I got caught in an absolute deluge. It kept me perfectly dry. The temperature was a little warm so the pit vents were welcome. The hood is full and adjustable. It will fit over another hat in colder weather. I always buy an XL rather than my normal L so I can layer in colder weather. This will definitely allow for that. As others have noted, there is a cloth lining on the inside of the collar. I like this a lot. It is more comfortable and that is the exact spot where my old rainjacket (different product) wore out and began to leak.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Rain Jacket; Past Problems Fixed No more problems with the zipper jamming. Velcro closure over zipper has been replaced with snaps. LL Bean listened to the customer reviews on the previous model of this jacket and fixed it. I am very pleased with the changes made to this jacket in the 2016 model year. The jacket is a little bit longer than the previous model, but I view that as a positive change as well. Color selection is presently limited to four choices. Bottom line: This is the best all round rain jacket I have ever owned and the best version of this particular jacket that LL Bean has produced. Thank you for listening to your customers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Waterproof and windproof lightweight jacket This light weight Gore-tex jacket is very windproof and waterproof, has a great hood that tucks into the collar, and compresses so it packs very small. It is a vast improvement over the prior year's version: better zippers everywhere, snaps instead of Velcro for the secondary closure to fasten the front, and even better color selections. Only complaint is that the main zipper is not a double zipper, so it cannot be unzipped part way up from the bottom. I bought it for biking, and because it is so long in the body, I can't zip it and bike. I have to rely on the snaps and that will be a problem in the winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Gore-Tex jacket so great I had to buy a second! I bought a second one of these light-weight Gore-Tex jackets with the slightly longer, slightly looser fit. This time in black. The Avocado I own says sold out in my size. This is my favorite jacket -- long enough to cover your butt or a blazer. Loose enough to wear a liner or fleece jacket underneath in cold weather. (Pick a trimmer jacket for running.) Great hood that stows away out of sight when not in use and a wonderful, high collar. Why aren't all hoods made to hide in collars? The zippers on both coats are A+ -- absolutely no snags. Best outerwear I have seen in years.
