Hikelite Air Insulated Sleeping Pad is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value I have been very pleased with this mat. It is my first camping mat which I bought for joining my son on Scouting adventures. Slept quite well on it for a week at Cub camp. This mat appears to be very similar to the Exped Synmat 9 (I'd bet it's the same manufacturer) with just a few less features which I'm quite OK going without for the far lower price. It has a smaller pump and takes a couple of minutes to inflate, but never needed to adjust again as it held its air. The R value is not as high, but adequate for my needs - again gladly trading features for cost. As another reviwer mentioned, it works best if not quite fully inflated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really makes a difference... Recently got back from a canoeing trip to the Adirondacks for 3 nights. We were using a 115L wet bag, and everything had to fit in it for numerous portages we were going to have to make, so space was at a premium. This sleeping pad was perfect for the trip. It packs down to a nice size, blows up easy and made for a very comfortable sleep. 20" in width was a little tight, but that's what they all seem to be, and even for a side sleeper was enough. Won't be going on a hike, or canoe trip without it. Love that it comes with a little repair kit, just in case.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfy, Packable, Good Value Passed the backyard test and its first night of real outdoor work, in a lean-to with a wood floor. High marks for compressing small enough to be packable and for good comfort. I weigh 150lbs and sleep on my side and had no problems with comfort. Pumping it up is more work than the self-inflating mattresses. I counted about 400 hand compressions with the built-in pump to get it inflated, which is a few minutes of steady work. Overall, excellent value for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable, packable, good value I have spent a handful of nights on this mattress, and I was very happy to have it! The built-in pump works great once you get the hang of it, inflating the mattress with a couple minutes of pumping. I found the mattress to be most comfortable when inflated a bit less than the maximum. Overall, it is much more comfy than the cheap foam mats, lighter and smaller to pack than most of the self-inflating mats, while being half the cost of the nearest direct competitor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Blend of Luxury and Low Weight The pad is incredibly comfortable. I bought this to replace the old thermarest 1" pads and my Thermarest z lite. The 3.5 inches are heaven to sleep on, and the 70D shell is durable enough to sleep on sharp rocks and gravel. The pads 3 R rating has kept me warm on nights down to 5 F, (with an appropriate bag). The hand pump on the pad is, however, the worst thing about the pad. I have tried many times to use the pump feature, but honestly, 1 and a half minutes of steady blowing into the valve is the most I've ever needed for the pad, even at 8000 ft of elevation. Losing the pump would shave serious bulk and weight down. I also think that most people are not camping on direct gravel and rock, so the 70D bottom seems like overkill in terms of durability. Knocking down to a little lighter fabric would really help with weight and bulk. Overall, an awesome pad for shorter backpacking or car camping, but can use some improvement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and comfortable This is my first sleeping pad and I absolutely love it. It is especially easy to inflate if you blow into the release valve. The hand pump does the job, just a bit slower. My boyfriend was extremely envious of my purchase as he has camped and backpacked for years but not with a pad like mine! It is compact in size and very light weight without compromising comfort.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome This pad is really nice. Especially for the price you pay. This is actually the second one I have bought. I went on a winter camping trip in the ADK's and I went into LLBean and they recommended this. My daughter and I camp in hammocks and this really helped insulate us from the cold. It packs up very small which is ideal if you are hiking in to your site. I love this product and would strongly recommend it to anyone. :)
