Rated 5 out of 5 by from A flannel that fits! Finally, I found a flannel shirt that fits. Most flannels that claim to be fitted are not. I don't want to be swimming in a shirt when I wear it. In addition, most are too long to be left untucked. This shirt is perfect! The fit is spot on and the length is just right. In addition, the fabric is exactly what I think of when it comes to flannel...the perfect weight and hand. For reference, a medium fits me perfectly...40 inch chest, 32 waist, 32 sleeve. The shirt is so good, I bought two. And it looks great with the Mountain Pile Fleece Vest. Thanks LLBean for making a flannel shirt that fits!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb Heavyweight Chamois Flannel Although this is a man’s shirt, I was drawn to the black and white shadow plaid and tried it on for kicks. I’m fairly tall and slim and the small regular (slim fit) fit me perfectly and is not too tight on the hip. The arms are long for me but I wear this kind of shirt with sleeves rolled up anyway. I can’t believe how soft and cozy it is—perfect for layering on chilly nights. So glad Beans is still doing this quality chamois. The Archival patterns are gorgeous. I would love to see more of these historic patterns, particularly for women.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shirt Bought this shirt during a clearance sale and decided to give it a try. It’s now one of my favorite shirts for outdoor work or cozy lounging. The thick cotton fabric keeps you warm and feels like a light shirt jacket. The buttons are large and sturdy which is a nice detail, better than typical small buttons. The retro plaid pattern is authentic as it’s based on a heritage shirt. I bought the brown/black version and it looks rich and not trendy. The only improvements could be more room at the underarm and a collar that sits a little flatter around the neck. I’m guessing this is just the heritage cut. All in all, a really nice shirt for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soft & warm, athletic fit This shirt looks great, feels great and fits well. I've worn Bean chamois for years but always found the fit just too wide especially around the middle. I'm an athletic 5'7" and 170. I ordered the Medium. The shirt is slightly snug in the shoulders but fits the chest and mid-section perfectly. This isn't the chamois I'd pull out to layer over long underwear for a day in the field. But, if I want an incredibly soft, warm, beautiful shirt to wear around the cabin or town, this is it! Plus, the quality and softness of the chamois is amazing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Old school I had my eye on this shirt for months, I have quite a few plaid flannel shirts so I am hesitant to add more. I look for a pattern and color that makes the shirt pop, this shirt in the Mountain Red plaid is a bit more traditional and when I first pulled it out of the bag it had a classic look and I really liked it right away. I read quite a few reviews talking about the slim fit and yes they are correct. For me, LL Bean shirts run big, I usually order a large from other companies but with LL Bean I order a medium. I have a few items that said “slim fit” but couldn’t tell they were slim. I put this shirt on and yes it’s slim. The medium fit me perfectly but please note I like my shirts very tailored looking with no excess material. The sleeves fit really well. I will hang this shirt to dry because the fit is so perfect I think a dryer might shrink it a bit. I am a tick over 6ft tall and a tick under 180. I have a regular build, a tiny bit slim and my shoulders are a tick slimmer than average, not broad at all. I hope this helps!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK shirt It's always a roll of the dice when ordering clothing on the web. According to the size chart I should be a M and this shirt is suppose to be slim fit. For a slim fit shirt there was very little taper to the shirt and the shirt balloons around the waist. It is pretty heavy weight, almost more a short jacket than a shirt. So a couple of things to note. It is decently made, heavier than I expected, the flannel does appear fluffier than plain cotton, and it is bigger around the waist than expected for a "slim fit" shirt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compare to Traditional Fit Chamois Overall very good shirt. Nice looking, quality material, sturdy stitching. In the product description, it seems like this Signature line chamois shirt has the same material and construction as the Traditional Fit chamois shirt. The only difference being the fit. However, when I went to the Freeport store and compared these two side by side, the materials used are somewhat different. The traditional fit ones are apparently thicker and stronger. I hope LLBean could be more specific in the description.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent The shirt is well-made of soft, heavy-weight material. Unlike many Bean shirts which have thick, blunt-edged buttons, this one has large, tapered buttons that are easy to slip into the holes. The "tall" "small" fits me perfectly. Which is my general complaint: Why can't you offer more shirts in this sizing? I can't think that I am the only somewhat tall, somewhat slim customer. I've given up on Bean "regular" shirts.
