Vintage Matelassé Sham is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 105.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fan of the new khaki The matelassé fabric appears to be high quality and is a versatile design that goes with contemporary or more tradition decor. It works especially well with our eclectic mix of furnishings and rugs. I am thrilled that the new khaki is a half shade darker than the premium flannel sheets in the 'sandbar' color. The sheets and matelassé shams are perfect together. My only gripe is that after ordering sheets from LL Bean over the years, I assumed that pillow cases (and shams) are always sold in pairs. I was initially dismayed to find that I had ordered only one sham. I'm ordering another, but in retrospect, I would have waited for a sale.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Matelasse Coverlet and Shams Love the fabric. Has enough weight to hang well but light enough to sleep under for summer and would work well even in winter with a blanket or comforter. Great length side to side on a queen sized mattress. Just over the start of the dust ruffle so there is no gap and top to bottom length is long enough to cover the pillows so they don't have to show under the sham if you don't want them to show. Love the pattern to add a little interest. The only thing that I could see that would improve it would be if there was a contrasting fabric on the other side so when you fold back the material it would show. Washed well. No ironing required.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Auality Love the more modern look of the blocks of Matelasse squares even though it's called "Vintage." The weight and quality are excellent, the shams easily lost their packaging wrinkles with just a few minutes in the dryer. We bought them, along with the matching coverlet, in Bay Leaf and found the color to be true to the website photo. We also bought the heavier cotton comforter in Bay Leaf for winter use and the colors match very well. The size of the shams fits our pillows well and there is a generous overlap flap in the back. You know how shams often have a very floppy edge that just won't stand up? Not these. The weight of the fabric combined with just the right width of the edge makes it stand up nicely for a well put-together bed. The look says Quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from White Not Color Tone I Hoped I purchased shams and a bedspread in white. Especially online, but in store as well, they looked snow white. I thought the quality was excellent, sizing was perfect and they were all natural fabric of 100% cotton. Unfortunately when I got them home and laid them over my white bedding I was disappointed to realize they were a yellow toned white, not the sharp snowy white I needed. They looked beige against my other bedding. I am sorry to say they will be returned. Other than the color they were exactly what I was looking for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful sham...generous sizing I find that this sham is generous in sizing but I haven't washed it yet. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if it shrinks a bit. Currently it is too floppy for the pillow but it's certainly not a deal breaker for me. I'd sooner buy a bigger pillow before I returned the sham. I do think it's good to know before buying that it is big. The teal color is soft and calming and looks fantastic with the white LL Bean flannel sheets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from generally pleased with one reservation I have had the spread and shams for over a year and am generally please with them. I particularly like that they are 100% cotton and a nice weight of fabric. The only complaint is that they seem to fade with washing. I recently purchased two additional shams of the same color and it seemed to me that they were two different colors. My guess was that someone had washed and returned one of the shams and it had been repackaged and shipped to me. It wasn't as crisp and bright as the other sham that was supposed to be the same color. It seemed used and faded. I contemplated returning it but figured it would balance out in the wash. I hope that is the case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Spread I had two of my beautiful, handmade quilts on my bed, but when I got a rowdy new dog who likes to chew on blankets, I knew my quilts had to go back in the cedar chest for a while. I wanted something that was about the same weight and warmth, completely washable, and would stand up to my dog if he decided to drag it off the bed to cuddle in. I got the Matelasse comforter and shams, and they are great. Just exactly what I wanted, so my dog and I can both sleep happily ever after. They look good, drape well, wash well, and are all-cotton for breathability here in Texas, where it gets warm. I love them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New and old We have ordered these for 3 beds. The are old world Portugal (and a nice heavy Cotten) that would look great in an antique house and they look great in our contemporary mid century modern house as well. It works anywhere! Very good looking and easy to use as bedspreads or blankets. We use them for both!.....one we use as a bedspread and we use another one in another color as a blanket on top. We ordered the bedspread and found it to be too big for us. The coverlet works well as a bedspread and a blanket.
