Rolling Adventure Duffle, Extra-Large is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 119.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extra Large, Extra Tough My wife and I have traveled extensively with a pair of these duffels - Africa twice, Europe, China, Mexico, Australia, etc. After several dozen trips over 8 years they are holding up well. Zippers still work and no broken wheels or handles. The fabric is showing some wear on the corners but there are no rips, tears, or holes. I like the fact that I can fit my fishing rods in storage tubes into these duffels. I have never had any problem putting these into checked baggage. No airline has ever complained about them being oversize. The only problem is that they are so roomy that it is easy to load them past the 50lb. airline limit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the same Similar feedback to other reviews... owned the large LLBean rolling duffle 15-20 years ago (Burgundy, with initials), and loved it. After years of regular use, gave it to my sister who was moving across country, and ordered a new one. Was SO disappointed when the new duffel arrived, as I could tell instantly the fabric/material was of a much lesser quality (thinner - rips, tears, gets cut easier during travel). A month later - after 1-2 trips (and rips) - I returned the bag, and was bummed I'd given my original bag away. LL Bean - Why mess with a good thing, and can you go back to the manufacturer & materials used to make these bags 20 years ago?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy Choice Bought this bag in black in 2011 and largely lived out of it for 14 months moving around Afghanistan as a contractor. I've since used it for domestic and international travel, and it went back to Afghanistan once more for another 6 month stint, and then to Liberia, and is still my primary suitcase for travel and camping here in Europe. We bought five more smaller ones for my children and another for my wife. Very large, but ties down well when not fully loaded, rolls easily on pavement and better than many on gravel. I will typically pack smaller bags inside this bag to contain them for transport, and strap a backpack/carry-on around the pull-out handle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific duffles We have had 4 of these extra large duffles and three of the mediums for 5 years now and they have been bumped around and such on several cruises. We do not fly so we are able to take these extra large ones on the ship and they are great. No zipper problems, no handles fraying or tearing, the insides are easy to clean and we are very, very pleased with the roominess. If you want space and are not planning on using them to fly on a plane (you'll pay big time extra) than these are the duffles for you. They no longer offer my pink or the yield sign yellow, which are my husband's bags, so the only disappointment is that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from XL Rolling Duffle Bought the XL size of this rolling duffle for a trip (via plane) across country. Worked well. Picked the teal color to stand out from other luggage at baggage claim. Only criticism of product is that the luggage is not capable of being able to be left in a stand alone setting (at least the XL size). So you have to lean it up against a wall, a chair or some other object as it won't stand alone like most luggage. You have to lean it against something or lay it down. It worked well for me on this trip and the XL size was needed because I seemed to run out of space with smaller bag. The XL version solved that issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product ! These duffle bags are great! I bought one for each of us for a much needed vacation. I bet we could have used just 1 for the both of us for a week and still put our winter coats in them! They hold a lot! They roll easily too. Yes they don't stand up on their own but it was a lot of fun watching people trip over them because they couldn't take their eyes off their phones. Seriously just one person tripped but it was pretty funny. These duffle bags are huge. You could easily pack one with 2-3 weeks of clothes. Another great L L Bean product. Just in case you noticed the review nickname that was about the 25th choice but they took it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from rolling duffle xl I like this bag. It is not too heavy and it has a support in the interior of the bag so the bag will not collapse in the middle when you are rolling it. I ordered the bag in green. I was delayed at baggage claim but I was able to spot the bag across the airport as it was about to be taken away by an employee of the airline. The bright green color was a great help. I just took my first trip with it to Iceland. I had no trouble handling the bag by myself. I am a 65 year old woman in good shape. The bag rolled well. I came home and ordered a smaller bag in the yellow color. I will never use a black bag again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lightweight but is Damaged Easily I've been using the XL Rolling Adventure Duffle for many years. I love that it's lightweight and can fit all my gear. It's not as durable, though, as promised. Something usually breaks (zipper or handle) or holes are made after only one or two international trips. LLBean has been great about replacing the item, but I'd like it a bit more durable so that I don't have to deal with returning it so often. Sometimes I can get the airlines to pay, but if multiple airlines have been involved, no one accepts responsibility.
