Polarized Performance Bifocals, Small is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 149.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reader Sunglasses I've had a pair of these glasses for over 10 years and absolutely loved them. They are now somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean. I ordered a new pair the very night I lost them and they were waiting for me when I got home. Yay! The glasses are a little lighter and smaller in size and the reader lens is smaller, all of which I like. The only little complaint is the rubber nose piece. They have indentations in them (I'm assuming to keep them in place when sweating) and they leave marks on my nose. They also collect makeup and are a little uncomfortable when wearing for long periods. All that being said, I still love them and rate them as excellent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fit is critical Thought I'd be a "medium" but quickly discovered those glasses' were too long...went 'way behind my ears. Surprised but LLB customer service recommended "small" so I opted to make the exchange. The small definitely fits and serves the purpose...for cycling particularly...as they fit nicely beneath my helmet. The bifocal attribute is essential for reading maps and cell phone--works just fine. The rubber nose piece is great for keeping the glasses from slipping, and the rubber on the ends keeps the glasses in place with any activity. The real test will come this fall when I do a cycling tour for three weeks in Europe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good pair of sunglasses Originally purchased a pair of these glasses with dark lenses. Worked well in keeping me from squinting & allowed me to read nautical charts through the magnified window. After a year, the earpiece fell off. I returned the glasses to LL Bean in exchange for a new pair. This time I got the amber lenses in the tortoise shell frame. I really liked the look of those glasses but found myself squinting in bright sunlight. Exchanged back to dark lenses. The dark lenses really are more effective than the amber ones. I have not found a better pair of sunglasses with the magnification window than these. I would purchase these again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for outdoor people who use readers! If you are over 45 and feel you need longer arms to read, these sunglasses are for you! The sunglasses are polarized and high quality, and the bifocal reader area is small enough that it doesn't distract from using these as all around sunglasses. They come in handy for me for these scenarios where I used to have to swap sunglasses for readers: - reading at the beach - reading my GPS on my boat - reading trail maps while hiking - being able to read something on my iPhone Surprised there aren't more companies that make these, I would definitely recommend them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great BiFocal sunglasses This is my second (3rd?) pair. I like the fact that the glasses come in 3 sizes. I have a small head, wear a size 7 hat, and the small glasses are great for me. I have also bought the mediums which were OK, but I like small better. Price is good, especially if you loose them - you're only out $90. Better than losing prescription sunglasses! BiFocal is in a great place, nice and low so you don't really see it until you need to look down to read a menu or tie a fly. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the little, soft nose pad has fallen off my old pair and I have glued it back on, but it won't last forever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How did I manage without these? Since 2010 when I was deployed to Afghanistan, I had been using another model of LLBean bifocal sunglasses but for some reason, there was always a lens glare that made it difficult to see at times. However, I like the convenience of having bifocal lens on my sunglasses so I kept using them until the lenses finally became too scratched to see clearly. With this new model, I no longer get a lens glare. Also, this model fits my small face much better so even though the bifocal section is lower profile, I can read without raising up the frame and the stems have silicone ends that are comfortable on my ears. What a joy to be able to see clearly in the harsh sunlight and also have the convenience of being able to read my tablet and GPS outdoors!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but not great I purchased the black pair of the small polarized bifocal sunglasses at least five years ago, then the brown ones (different bifocal power) a year or two later. I like them both and still wear them. The problem with them is the rubber nose pieces as well as the rubber ear pieces come off. I've super glued them back on both pairs many many times. I would like to purchase another pair, however only if this problem has been fixed. FYI - they are good for reading books, but you cannot read most screens with them on due to the polarization.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Both good and bad... These glasses get five stars for the design. They look great, they come in different sizes (small fits my face perfectly), and the bifocal is awesome! The bad is the build quality for which they get one star. I am on my fourth pair over many years and have repeated problems with lenses falling out, nose bridges coming apart, and earpieces falling off. These glasses are priced with high quality glasses, but the build quality is very poor. L.L.Bean has been getting reviews like this for years and has made no attempt to improve the quality of the glasses, which is disappointing!
