Premium Denim Dog Bed Replacement Cover, Rectangular is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 133.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better Zipper I (and the dogs I've had over 25+ years) have always liked their Bean beds but things changed for the worse some time back when the cover became difficult to take off and (especially) put on because of poor zippers and a smallish opening. I just ordered a new cover, however, and was delighted to see a much sturdier zipper that looks like it will last much longer than the few months one of the old ones did and a larger opening. I haven't washed it yet so am withholding last star just in case. So far so good though and thanks for listening to me and the other complainers. Of course, if the dog had her druthers I'd never remove to wash in the first place

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best dog bed cover I am always pleased with the quality of L.L. Bean products and this is no exception. Twelve years ago, I bought 2 beds for my large breed puppies who grew up to be 90+ lb dogs. The beds and covers have stood up well to lots of abuse. My boys like to pull their beds around to get them in the right spot and then scratch the bed covers to create a perfect nest before they lie down. The covers have been laundered hundreds of times; that may be what caused one of the zippers to break. So that the reason for my purchase of one replacement cover. The other cover and the inserts are still in good condition. Thank you, L.L. Bean.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Like cardboard After purchasing a few dog beds in the past from LL Bean and being satisfied with my purchases, I thought I would have the same experience when purchasing this dog bed cover but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Upon taking it out of the package I thought it was very stiff/hard but thought it just needed to be washed. After washing it (with fabric softener) and drying it as instructed on the care instructions, it’s just as stiff/hard as when I took it out of the box, my dog won’t even lay on it. She has another LL Bean dog bed that she sleeps on frequently but would rather sleep on the hard wood floor than use this bed! Not sure what to do with it at this point!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the same... We have purchased LL Bean dog beds and replacement covers for over 25 years. In fact, the cover we replaced was at least 12 years old! It finally "bit the dust"! Ordered a grey color replacement. I found the material to be extraordinarily heavy. It also strongly spelled of CHEMICALS. Reminded me of new carpet. I had to wash it twice and use an extra amount of fabric softner to dissipate the odor. It seems OK now. Fits the pillow well. Do not like where the dog's name is placed; therefore elected not to do. Used to be on the top. Now it is on the side and, in my opinion, not easily seen or attractive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good thru repeated washings I got an extra-large bed for my dog Barney about 3 years ago. Its washed every 2 weeks practically. So far it has done well! The extra-large bed is about as big as a mattress for a baby's crib. My dog is temporarily staying with my folks and it can be heavy for an elderly person. So my mom sewed "handles" on it so it's easier to pick up. Maybe you could included "handles" on future ones. And today, i am ordering a new cover...a back-up for when Barney's is in the wash. By the way, he "shares" his bed during sleep overs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best dog beds! These are the best dog beds. They stand up to my pack very well and the fact that I can order replacement covers is great too. I have a dog that loves to "nest" and it seems like she's trying to dig to China at times. We used to do rescue and have always had multiple dogs and these are the only beds we buy. Stopped once when they quit putting the extra long zippers in, but when they put them back on, went back to buying them. The zippers go all the way down one side and around both corners on that side so it is very easy to get the covers off to wash, and I wash the covers every other week. As long as they don't change the zippers back to the short ones again, we will always buy these beds.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Recommended with reservations These covers are soft and well-made. No issues at all with the quality of the cover itself. However, I have two Welsh cardigan corgis. These are dogs with a very thick coat. I put down one bed with the fleece cover and one with the regular denim cover and they ended up sharing the denim covered bed. I think the fleece is just too hot for dogs with heavy coats. I can still use this cover by flipping it over, but wow, does the fleece pick up dog hair from the floor. If you have a dog who seems to need a little help staying warm, this might be great. If you have the kind of dog who sprawls belly-flat in the snow and is happy as a clam, maybe this won't work.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from fleece breaks down HAve had these dog bed covers for years. Bought two so I could wash one and have the other on her bed. First few lasted a couple years, and LL Bean replaced them. Lately the covers break down much faster, and they are now being returned. My dog is not a chewer-she likes to scratch around to get comfortable before going to sleep. Her nails are not long, but the fleece comes off the fabric. No way would I ever expect this from LL Bean, but the quality is just not there.
