Rated 5 out of 5 by from Consider the Smaller size Bean was out of the "regular" size, so we paid more and have 2 of the XL# They really are too big for me at 5'5" 115lbs and our 13 year old daughter# I suggest the XL are for men & taller adult women# Due to the large size, if impending "crash" , it is too hard to get out of the tube# When we have used the smaller size, you can keep your weight higher in order to roll off# We use ski helmet and goggles always# Directions were not included, but with further research found that you can type in "product number" # 253663 to get LLBeans information sheet with directions for air pressue fill and storage# 5 hikes up the yard tube hill = 1 PE class.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Any Age We purchased one of these tubes in each size a few years ago and they turned out to be better than any other "sledding" toy we have tried. We use it on small hills and big and it glides along any kind of snow. The small one is great for the smaller kids and the large one is great for adults or adults with a small child in their lap. We have ordered these for gifts and everyone loves them. Word of caution. Neighbors borrowed one and used it to sled down their front yard and went out into the bare plowed street over and over again scratching the bottom. That one is now ruined. Its the slickness of the bottom that makes it so fast.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun for the WHOLE family -tots and adults! Our first snow tube purchase and we love it! We got the regular size and it is perfect for all of us. Boston has been getting hit with snow storms after snow storms this past week. So it was perfect timing to try it out at the golf course. Our 3 year old ( 35lbs) went down the slopes on her own! Fits one adult comfortably (we are 5'2" and 5'9") but sometimes one of us would sit with her. That's alittle squishy but we did fine as she is still little. The bottom of the tube is a hard surface and we used the air compressor at the gas station and fits in our Camry trunk. If anyone have a recommeded pump they purchase, please let me know.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fastest, farthest sled on the hill! I bought one of these tubes last year, but my daughter wasn't quite old enough yet for us to feel safe thowing her down a hill so we just dragged her around the yard in it. That was fun for a 3 1/2 year old. This year she's a big (literally, she's tall!) 4 1/2 year old and we headed out to the town sledding spot after this weekend's storm. There were at least 20 kids on the slope and our daughter went faster and farther than any of them, every time! The combination of the slippery bottom with the comfort stability of the tube makes for an awesome ride (yes, husband I each gave it a go as well!). I am thrilled with this and expect many more years of winter fun from it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 35 mph!! These have been the best purchase we have ever made for sliding. Every winter, our church youth group comes to our house for a sliding party, and we used to purchase the snow tubes that you buy at a hardware store. Needless to say, most would be popped by the end of the day - it was getting expensive! Then we discovered these snow tubes... although they cost more than what we previously used, they have paid for themselves, as we can use them every year since they are so tough!! It can be a bit scary though, as we have clocked them with a GPS at 35 mph... and there are some days after an ice storm when I don't let our four boys use them - they go too fast!! Highly recommended!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast, comfortable, durable We are very pleased with the quality of this tube. We had just one evening of use thus far, but are confident that the durability will be excellent and we'll get several seasons of use from it. The cushioned ride is much appreciated on our 45 and 50 year old backs. The regular size fits our 150+ lb frames, but I can see where someone appreciably larger would benefit from having the extra large size. The regular size also works fine for our 7 year old son. It is light enough and slides well enough by the strap that he can get it back up the hill without too much trouble.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tube sizing This is a great tube for sledding, especially for the kids. An important note, perhaps this should be included in the documentation that goes with the tube, the regular size tube seems too small for the shell until you really pump it up. Make sure you position the inner tube with the nozzle pointing down and in (once it is partially inflated) and KEEP PUMPING. It really fills the space inside the shell -- I promise. We had to call to learn this. I did not pump it all the way hard at first and it seemed way too small of a diameter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Snow Tube! My kids love snow tubes for sledding, but any that we've had from anywhere else have never lasted more than a few runs on our hills due to punctures. This LL Bean tube has a plastic bottom for extra protection. It was a Christmas present and has taken kids and adults down the hills without deflating or popping! When my husband was inflating it, he was disappointed at first because it didn't seem to inflate enough to fill the cover. After reading some reviews on other sites, we were encouraged to keep pumping. The tube inflates far more than you first realize. So if the tube seems too small for the cover, keep going!
