Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Paddle I've Ever Owned This is the paddle I've been looking for all my life. Seriously! It is so much easier to do J-strokes, sweeps, etc. with this paddle than with the more square-shaped paddles such as the Arrow. Not that I don't like the Arrow, as I own one of these, too. You do sacrifice a bit of efficiency with the Beavertail as there is less wood in the water as there is with the Arrow. I would take an Arrow with me, as well, if I wanted to cover a lot of distance quickly. The paddle is very lightweight, beautiful and well finished. My wife wanted one as soon as she tried mine, so it looks like I'll be buying another.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Paddle I've had this paddle for about two years. I paddle with it almost everyday from May to September. A nice light paddle for flat-water. It has a lot of flex and is good for solo paddling. When the wind picks up I will use a stiffer paddle but this one is by far my favorite. The only drawback is that there are less coats of finish on this paddle than on the arrow. It will need to be refinished sooner. Still, for the price, this is a great paddle. Just awesome for lakes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a paddle Well, don't really know much I can say about a canoe paddle - it works if I do, looks good, fits well, probably tastes terrible and really not much of a fashion statement. I was going to take it out for dinner but the wife said "no". If you just need a paddle I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from wisconsin made beavertail paddles This wood paddle is the only way to go for excellent quality. Craftmanship rules--light, durable, smooth finished, and able to propel my 18 ft. laker with a two passenger combined weight load that reaches 480lbs with ease. These paddles really can pull the water. Construction is superb and with tips protective coated 'pushing off' no longer means shredding the paddle ends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very nice paddle This paddle is very comfortable in the hands, glides through the water smooth and quietly, and allows great control. The width of it is great when you need to dig in on those windy days. I bought one for my wife and me and we both think they're great

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Solo Paddle I have serveral wider paddles but now that I have a Bell solo conoe I wanted something with a long narrow blade to learn the more difficult strokes for solo paddling. Paddle is a very nice Bending Branches brand wood paddle with a protective synthetic tip. Nice and light and works well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful paddle Besides being made of beautiful wood, this paddle has a smooth hard finish. The shaft is oval-shaped and the paddle is light-weight, making it comfortable for paddling all day. The protective plastic strip across the bottom takes the scratches and dings, and protects the finish. The Beavertail is a good all-round shape for someone who wants to own one paddle. This one caresses the water smoothly and comfortably. You will be proud to own it!
