Women’s Bean Boots, 8" Thinsulate is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 667.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beware of sizing recs, consider sock thickness I ordered these boots a size below what I normally wear and in a narrow fit since my feet are narrow. I happened to be nearby a store this weekend so I went in to try on some boots to get a feel for if I ordered the right size. The sales clerk] told me"You can't follow the guidelines online".... lol. They did not have narrow widths available in that store, but I did try on both a 7 (what I ordered) and an 8 (what I normally wear) in the medium width with two different sock thicknesses. I ended up liking the 7s better because I will be mostly wearing them with medium-thick socks. However, the 8s were a great fit with thick socks. I thought others might want to know this information!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable, waterproof and great fit!! These boots were made by Linda at L.L.Bean and she did a fantastic job. I think it is so unique to know who made you boots and that were made right here in the USA! What a great product and I am so excited about them. On the size to order...I ordered a size 7 in the thinsulate boots, and this is the size that I usually wear. They fit perfectly and I am so glad that I didn't go down a size. The thinsulate really make a difference as far as space in the shoe is concerned. They fit great with a heavier sock and with the cute crew socks that are everywhere right now! Wonderful product and I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Leather quality cheap This is my second pair of beanboots. First pair purchased about 20 years ago. I also own a pair of the beanboot-style shoes purchased about 10 years ago. The rubber shoe-sole part is unchanged and is excellent. What has changed is the quality of the leather. My latest pair of boots is made with what seems like "bonded" leather. It is thin and feels cheap. Not what I would expect for the price and history of the L.L.Bean signature item. I am glad they are still made in Maine. The rest of L.L.Beans apparel and footwear is imported(i.e.China.) I am willing to pay more for clothing made in the US.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boots! After years of boot-envy I took the plunge with the thinsulate 8". As a 7.5 typically I was planning to order the size 6 boots, but living in central MN I knew I would typically be wearing thick socks, often even two pairs of socks! I read a blog where someone had compared all the different versions of the boot and even suggested that with the thinsulate lined, to only go down 1/2 a size if you're typically a "middle size." Down to a 7 I went and I am thrilled! Very comfortable, works with one pair of super thick socks or two of a thinner material and very insulated. I'm actually excited to be getting snow in the middle of March because my feet don't freeze anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm in Beautiful Blue I love my Thinsulate boots in blue, a fantastic color. My feet are usually freezing, but they felt nice and cozy and not overheated (as one reviewer mentioned) even though I was wearing medium weight wool socks. I believe the thinsulate was worth the extra money, especially if your feet are always cold. The boots were easy to put on and easy to clean. I really appreciate the excellent support around my weak ankles. I was able to rush after my kids in icy slush and feel very secure. SIZE: My normal size is 7.5 and I bought size 7 boots; they are a little roomy but size 6 was too small when I tried on a pair in the store.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Runs more true-to-size than other bean boots! Per the sizing guidelines, I ordered a full size below my usual -- I am ALWAYS an 8, so I ordered a 7. And I could barely get my foot in, much less a foot with socks. Luckily I live by a LL Bean store, so I headed over to try some various boots on. The thinsulate DEFINITELY adds a good bit of insulation, so you really can go with your standard size in these (for comparison, I tried on some non-thinsulate boots, and a 7 was perfect.) The thinsulate is really warm, so you really only need a regular sock. These are great boots, but the sizing is definitely different than other bean boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these boots I was debating what size to get in these boots. After doing a lot of research I decided to order a size 7, and I'm glad I did. I'm a true size 8 in every shoe I've ever worn, sometimes a 7.5, so I was definitely skeptical ordering a whole size smaller. I'm wearing these in Michigan where it's definitely cold and I wear them with thick socks. I ordered the extra shearing liner for the bottom and it makes it a lot warmer when I need it! I love the flexibility of taking out the shearing, or wearing thick and thin socks in the boots so I can wear them year round. I would really recommend these boots!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Nice! I just ordered these a day ago and received them in 24 hours. Talk about great service! I wanted to comment on the sizing. I wear a size 6. My feet are a normal size 6. By that I mean that my width is regular, my instep is not high, I have a normal arch and the size 6 in this boot fits me perfectly. I wouldn't go down a size at all unless you have petite and narrow feet. I've been walking around in the house with these and they are so comfortable. I can't wait for it to rain so I can wear these oh so cute boots. I already ordered another one. The limited suede edition.
