Rated 1 out of 5 by from BEWARE ! I purchased one of these long sleeve Tropicware shirts and was very I ordered several more. Despite being the same inventory number, the subsequently ordered shirts were NOT THE SAME. They were made of a thinner, lighter fabric which allows more sunlight to pass through. And the back cape overlapped the mesh by much less, which in certain leaning body positions would expose a small portion of the mesh to sunlight and allow it to your skin. My first shirt (the very nice one) was made in Thailand. The thinner fabric ones were made in Honduras. According to Customer Service, all currently sold units are made in Honduras.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beware of sizing I bought two of these in XXL: one in dusty sage (light olive); one in pewter (which is really desert tan, by the way). Both were VERY large out of the bag - more like XXXL - and the pewter shirt was at least half a size larger than the dusty sage shirt. Decided to keep them because they would be nice overshirts, and put them in the wash to get the sizing out. Guess what? Both shirts shrank to much more manageable proportions! So, if you buy your regular size, it may come out of the bag too big, but it will also shrink to size after a trip through the washer/dryer. Clearly, sizes vary as between colors, although both shirts made in Bangladesh.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from tropicwear shirt Why is the old style shirt superior to this model? 1) Old style had straight hem; since shirt rarely tucked in, straight hem gives neater appearance. 2) Old style had 2 hidden zip pockets, a BIG advantage when out of country (e.g., passport, credit cards). 3) New style has no hidden pockets & velcro pocket closures - noisy, annoying to have to align every time you close, velcro attracts flotsam. 4) easier to get items (e.g. pen, glasses) in & out of patch pockets than Velcro closure pockets. 5) New style collar has sloppy, not neat appearance. When/if you go back to old style, I will buy again

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic shirt! Purchased 3 shirts as part of my very limited items for three weeks in Alaska. Total pack, clothing, etc. was 15 lbs. Fifteen flights, motor coach and old school bus miles, train, and boat trip, washing out clothes in sinks as needed, with no ironing, and these shirts looked/felt GREAT the next wearing. They shed food/drink/dirt EXTREMELY well. They resisted body odors and looked fine even after a fourth day of wearing if sink washing was not performed. Did wear a poly-t under garment.. Matter of fact, I only wore two of the shirts the whole trip. The third didn't come out of the pack. Alaskatastic product for me!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE da shirt! I am not a fisherman, I use my shirt for photographing air shows, racing cars, and birding .Comfortable! The color is great, it is cool in the sun. and provides sun protection. That's good for us who are plagued by sun-caused skin cancers! It washes up wonderfuly, I just hang it to dry, which it does quickly, with no ironing needed! YAY!. My wife thinks it is very good-loooking, which is a boon, because she got it for me for Father's Day. She hates camo! There is one minor issue...I am just in between regular/tall, so I got a tall. It is long! I must leave the bottom button undone, in order to easily acess the equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy I bought 2 of these shirts (solid color) for their UV protection / SPF factors. I liked them so much that I quickly bought 2 more! (one plaid and one solid.) Colors are bright and true to online catalogue colors. Shirts have button-down collars, 2 flap/velcro chest pockets, along with 2 small pocket tabs that could serve as loops for sunglasses frames. Also a larger left chest loop/velcro tab. Sizing is good, except for 1 shirt (the plaid), which runs larger and its sleeves are longer than the other 3 solid shirts. Easy wash and wear. Mesh lining is a plus & minus: cool, but can snag on hangers, etc. Made in Bangladesh.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a great shirt! I have a closet-full (actually two) of fishing shirts. They look great when they come back from the cleaners (neither my wife or I iron any more), but look like a wreck after a day out on the water, so I decided to add one more, Bean's Tropicwear shirt, to the collection. Well, it's a great shirt. The fabric is just plain terrific: soft to the touch, hard to wrinkle, light weight. The cut is generous (I am not a small guy) and comfortable. Pull it out of the dryer, hang it up, and it is ready to do it again. I will be getting more, and giving the old shirts to Goodwill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shirt My husband works in construction. His skin was reacting to any sunblock that I bought him, so this shirt was his answer. I thought it was really expensive and delicate for the dirt & grease that he gets on his shirts. But, this shirt is a dream to wash! I pre-treat with Lestoil the equipment grease stains and pre-treat the areas of grimy dirt that is imbedded into it with the regular laundry detergent. When washed, it comes out looking like new!! He has ruined so many previous work shirts, but these look just as good as the day we bought them-- so I ordered 2 more! Now he has one for each work day! Thanks for a great product!!
