Men’s Bean Boots, Gumshoes is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 435.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the dog park Let me first get sizing out of the way: I normally wear a size 9, so ordered a size 8 and it's fits fine. There are two things about this boot that I like that I don't think have been mentioned by others. Firstly, I was looking for a boot with soles that are easy to clean after walking in mud. Many boots have numerous small crevices that get filled with mud, making clean-up a pain. Not these. A quick rinse and the mud is gone. Secondly, I was pleasantly surprised by the laces. Not only are they attractive and a good length (not too long, so I don't have to double-tie them to keep the bows from touching the ground), but they stay tied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Find out how, they're supposed to fit. Find out how the boots are supposed to fit before you buy. I forgot this when I bought my last pair, and just ordered my regular size. This was the first time I ordered the boots from the catalog. Previously, I purchased them from "The Store". When I got the on-line boots, they fit very loose. So I called "The Store". I was told for general reference, that the boots were sized to fit with a couple of pairs of medium socks. So now I wear them with two pairs of sneaker socks (ankle socks?). Every ten to fifteen years or so these boots have to be replaced. I wear mine mostly for yard work now, so they last longer. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Adequate The current purchase is a replacement for the L.L. Bean Tex 2.5 which is no longer available. The Tex 2.5 were slip-on gumshoes with no tongue. They were more convenient, comfortable and did not let your feet get wet when you are in water that is near the top of the boot. The new L.L.Bean Boots, Gumshoe has a tongue that allows water to get in around the tongue. The tongue also inconveniently folds into the shoe when putting them on. If the tongue were longer and made of heavier leather, this most likely would not be a problem. I would recommend the boots to friends but would ask them to read my comments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can’t wait for the cold season now! I just received my Gumshoes in the mail and threw them on right away. They fit really well. A little big but it will be fine with thick socks , that and L.L. Bean has great information about buying these gumshoes so do your research before buying. Becky you did an awesome job!!! I can’t wait to get out and use my wonderful gumshoes. I live on the border of Iowa, South Dakota, and Nebraska. The winters here are pretty harsh usually, so going out in the brutal weather won’t be so bad anymore. I can’t wait!!! Thanks Again L.L. Bean. This Midwesterner is definitely going to purchase more Bean Boots and Mocs in the future!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great waterproof shoes! I have only had these shoes a couple of days but so far have been very impressed with the quality and comfort. I have tried many hiking shoes that say they are “waterproof” (i.e. gore-tex, waterproof membrane) but none of them kept the water out and eventually the soles came apart from the uppers. The rubber of these shoes really does keep the water out and the insoles are thick. He sizes most definitely run large, I assume for the thicker socks. I bought an 11 and I typically wear a 11.5-12, and the 11 is a tad big, but the laces help you tighten the shoe so they don’t flop. Highly recommend these shoes if you are looking for a shorter version of the bean boot that feels more like a tennis shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe - wish it were insulated 1) Great shoe 2) Can LLBean offer it with thinsulate? You used to. 3)I just followed the sizing instructions and ordered down a size, from my normal shoe size, as I do with my LLBean boots of similar design. But my boots were offered with thinsulate. Hint, hint LLBean. 4) I love these Bean shoes and boots especially since they are offered in Wide. And they can be resoled very reasonably by LLBean. 5) Order as soon as they become available or you'll have to wait a year to order. I was able to order in time this year and it came after 2-3 months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TYPICAL BEAN BOOTS! MY NEW LL BEAN GUMSHOES ARE TYPICAL OF ALL BEAN BOOTS. THEY'RE THE BEST EVERMADE AND WILL LAST FOREVER. SEVERAL YEARS BACK, I ORDERED A PAIR OF 6" BEAN BOOTS (IN 2005 I THINK) AND THEY ARE STILL GOING STRONG. I WORE MY GUMSHOES THE OTHER DAY MOWING AND WEEDEATING AND BY THE TIME I WAS DONE, I COULD SEE THAT THEY WILL PAY FOR THEMSELVES BY SUMMER'S END. AS OTHERS HAVE ALREADY SAID, IT IS ABSOLUTLEY VITAL THAT YOU GO BY THE SIZING INFORMATION ON THE WEBSITE. I DID FOR BOTH MY BOOTS AND GUMSHOES AND THEY FIT PERFECTLY RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. WHILE OTHERS MAY OFFER SIMILAR BOOTS FOR A CHEAPER PRICE, BEAN BOOTS ARE WORTH THE MONEY AND WILL LAST FOREVER!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for rainy days These are great. Size runs large as indicated and you do have to order 1 to 1.5 size smaller. I usually wear 10.5 medium but ordered a size 9. This produced a good and comfortable fit. I find these to be very nice to wear walking through wet grass and on rainy days. My feet stay dry. There is little insulation and may not be warm enough during very cold weather unless one wears very heavy socks.
