Size large too small
I bought this for my husband for Christmas and when I saw it I knew there was no point in giving it to him. It's on it's going back. The sweater was short and narrow, the waist was small, and the sleeves were short. In fact, I thought LL Bean must have sent me a woman's sweater - I checked and it was the mens. The only thing that was accurate was the color which was beautiful.

any sweaters , Shirts or pants,that I have purchased every Christmas are excellent quality. The fit is wonderful they wash and wear fantastic. I always get my Christmas gifts from you every year have never ever been disappointed !! I actually have never sent anything back!

size up if you prefer traditional fit
We love the look of this sweater, but the product details for this item said "slim fit" so we sent for both a medium and a large to compare because my husband typically prefers a more traditional/classic fit. We went with the large instead of his usual medium, as the latter looked like it would fit me. I do think it might stretch a bit as you wear it, yet not enough to make up for the snug shape. It's a very nice sweater and I would still recommend it, but I didn't put five stars because it seems to me there's something ever so slightly off about the scale of the arms versus the torso. His favorite sweater is the Bean's Organic Waffle 1/4 Zip Sweater; we would love to see this fisherman's sweater redone to be comparable in fit to the waffle. For someone who likes a slim fit, you might still want to compare two sizes, as it seemed pretty small to me. Unless your upper arms are quite trim, you might need to size up even if you don't mind the slim fit.
