L.L.Bean Access Sleeping Bag, 40° is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for overflow I bought this for when guests sleepover & we need to set them up on the air mattress. The children immediately took them to their bedrooms & are now sleeping in them. So, I'd say they are a success. Just need to sneak them out of their rooms & into the stuff sack without them noticing. Wish me luck.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth Considering I have not purchased the Access sleeping bag, but I would like to share my thoughts. When I first came across this bag, I was excited. It is hard to find a good three-season sleeping bag. A bag that is best suited in the north for use from late spring through early fall. The online catalog describes it as a 40° bag, but the stuff sack has it at 45°. Upon my examination of the bag in a local Bean store, I believe the latter rating to be correct. The bag is lightweight and being all synthetic (the lining is not flannel), it should dry quickly if it gets wet. The price point too is very good. However, there is one major problem with the design. The zipper is a one-way zipper. There is no way to open the foot of the bag for ventilation while allowing the top and the bottom of the bag to remain together. This limits the usefulness of the bag in warmer weather. But there is an alternative to consider; Bean’s Mountain Classic Camp bag (507263). This bag is rated for 40°. However, it is several ounces lighter than the Access bag. But its real advantage is it has a two-way zipper, and two bags can be zipped together. This would be a better choice if you are looking for bag that allows better regulation of its warmth to match the season. My hope is L. L. Bean will develop rectangular sleeping bag with the same shell, lining, fill and comfort rating as the Adventure 50 Sleeping bag (512889). Which by the way also has a two-way zipper.
