L.L.Bean Acadia Shelter is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from In need of an update. Was looking for a sunshade to use on the beach, ideally it would be quick and simple to assemble, allow for maximum view and be able to withstand the on shore wind. As I was setting it up it reminded me of old Coleman tents, fiberglass poles, laminated fabric, long catchy pole sleeves, it felt pretty durable but even when I knew exactly what I was doing it still took about 20mins and would have been much easier with a second person. This didn't meet my needs, I found this product more suitable for covering a picnic table during a group car campout and I probability wouldn't bother setting it up unless it was going to stay up for a couple days.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lots of shade, once set up The shelter was a bit tough to set up, and were a family of tent campers. Once up, it was great. Provides much more shade than most beach shelters, covering 4 of us in camp chairs. The side panel was helpful when the sun moved!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Could be better Loves the idea but needed better execution. The pole design wasn’t good for structural stability. Difficult to put together and didn’t work well when it was.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Assembly It’s not easy to figure out how to assemble it. You definitely need a second set of hands. I returned this item. The instructions were too small to figure out what to do.. quality was good but I was disappointed on how to assemble it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the Best Quality I so wanted to love this sun shade. The directions are not the greatest, but I am quite experienced at putting up tents, so was able to figure it out fairly easily. I love that it packs small, but that also means the fabric is somewhat delicate as we unfortunately found out while setting it up for practice in our driveway. The wind caught it & blew it over, & it already has an abrasion from hitting the concrete. We have an older LL Bean tripod sunshade that we have had for years, but wanted something that packed smaller. I would say that this particular sunshade has good space once erected, packs small & is not too hard to put up, although would be much easier with adequate directions. Handle it carefully & it should work well, but don’t expect it to last forever. Would I recommend? Sorry, but the quality is not what I expect from LLBean. Your privacy is important to us.
