L.L.Bean Continental Weekender Pack is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Travel I bought this with air travel in mind. It's a perfect sized backpack to carry on flights for two and three day short trips. I'm too old and fat to be trekking up mountains with it, but it looks like it would do a splendid job for such excursions. Very durable construction and built to last. Well worth the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Continental Ruck I really like this pack for size, shape and construction, until, you notice the zipper at the top of the pack. Nice maybe for your phone. But the first leaking point, otherwise the outside of the pack is really water shedding. Leave the phone or tunes behind, otherwise a nice pack.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Is an ok bag Backpack appears to be very well made and should last me a long time…..however…seems to me that it is in need of a few small pockets where little “nick nacks” can be kept. Current pockets are very deep and any small thing stored there will certainly get lost. The main storage compartment needs to be made wider….deeper front to back….trying to pack anything large can be a challenge ….”small” opening at top makes it difficult getting things in and out. Wish waist belt could be made removable..or if it is….haven’t figure it out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from weekender Pack, great piece of gear, roomy. This comfortable pack holds a lot of gear and is easy to pack. After spending 20 years in the USMC I wish I had a pack like this back then

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect For Week in Europe I went to Estonia, Latvia and Finland last summer and two things saved me, given the volume of (sometimes wet) cobblestone streets and stairs. The fact that I wore hiking shoes and this backpack. My strategy was to buy a new (souvenir) t-shirt every day to wear the next day, so I was able to use this for a whole week. It was packed full for the trip home but I didn't have to check it (BA to Europe and AA back to USA). I love all the pockets, I love the drawstring under the cover on top (made me feel more secure) and I just love how roomy it is. And the waist cinch thing and the chest cinch thing made walking to/from hotel/ferry and even one scooter ride so easy. I saw so many tourists hauling suitcases around and I was so much faster with this backpack. The front pocket stored all my beauty stuff perfectly!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from CLASSIC LOOK AND FEEL I was looking for a more rugged, Bushcraft style pack to replace an old Ozark Trail pack and I thought this could work. The pass through side pouches are a great feature, as is the main dump and upper and lower tie down straps. Being that the waist belt is inadequate at supporting any weight of the load, all the weight will be on your shoulders. I remedied this by removing the original belt and installed one from a US Army pack. Much better now; more functionality, more comfortable. I would have returned the pack if it wasn't for this ability. One of the straps on the bottom tore from the seam on the second use of the pack. Very disappointing considering its cost. However, LL Bean replaced it no questions asked. A nice pack for a light load and a short hike, not for a weekend hiking trip.
