Looks nice, but not soft or warm
Not actually soft, but rather coarse feeling. Nice looking, and heavy, but not good in any kind of cold breeze. It’s a very loose knit, and you can actually see through it to whatever you’re wearing under it. Kind of surprising. Not sure I would have bought it had I known.

Gorgeous sweater

Classy, substantial, well-fitting sweater
I have a weakness for meaty, substantial sweaters that look like they wouldn't be out of place on the set of "The Guns of Navarone," but are tame enough to slot into a catered suburban house party, and this is one such sweater. It's not as fitted as the commando sweaters (the shoulder patches of which tend to alarm the heavy NPR listeners) but more fitted than most of the Bean's other sweater offerings, and it has an actual R value so don't layer a T-shirt under it if you're wearing it indoors. Pairs well with medium blue jeans and brown Rockport deck shoes.

Unpredictable sizes in a nice sweater.
In most ways, these Fisherman Crewnecks are great cotton sweaters. But the sizes are entirely unpredictable, which is surprising given that they're all coming from the same company, LL Bean. Some are surprisingly large and some surprisingly small. I own several of them and this one turned out to be too big. i hoped it would shrink enough after washing to make it the right size, but it didn't.

All Season Sweater
Really like the faded color effects. I ordered one size up…XXL…and found it comfortably large. Has a solid feel to the cotton build.
