Tested in the Canary Islands!
Bought this UPF-50+, sage-colored Tropicwear fishing hat (with flap) for our 3-week, island-hopping getaway to the Canary Islands where we went hiking, sightseeing, fishing, sunning on the beach, swimming, and variety of other outdoor activities. Kept me cool without sunburn and, notwithstanding the times when the flaps were down, didn't make me look too geeky or foreign-touristy! Highly satisfied with the protection provided by this high-quality, easy-wash, easy-care, quick-dry hat at a very reasonable price. Will buy again!

The "Hat with Flap" has been very helpful protection from the sun. In addition to the comfortable fit, an unexpected benefit has been the flap which provides a barrier and deterrent to pesky insects. Definitely recommend this hat for the practical out doors individual.

Great cap.
Finally, I useful baseball cap. The dorsal visor actually covers your ears as well as your neck.
Unfortunately, these are practically unavailable in most sizes and colors online, and there is no comment on future availability, so you may have to shop the online stores for your choice.

Well made but I have better already
I returned it. I thought it looked silly on and I already have a hat with a wider brim. I prefer a hat with a cord under the chin which I have..

Hot - side panels are misleading
The hat has NO ventilation! The side panels are a tight weave backed up my the cloth used to make the balance of the hat. I would not buy this again.
