Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect out of the box These were comfortable from the first minute I put these on! I had blisters on my heels from a different brand of shoes and could not even feel them. I typically wear a 6 1/2 and ordered the 7. Fits great with thick wool hiking socks. The first week the top of the shoe was a little tight with thick socks but the leather has now loosened to a comfortable fit. They are warm and kept my feet dry so far from beachcombing, hiking and rain in the PNW in February. I was not stepping in deep puddles mind. The dirt and sand fall off pretty easy. I love the retro look! I also really enjoy the placement of the logo. Its not screaming the brand at anyone. These shoes were worth every penny!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Hiking Shoe! Purchased this hiking boot to replace an older pair of boots I had. I wear my boots with thick hiking socks, and needed a full size larger than my dress shoe size. The boots were put to the test this week on several long day hikes that I took in Rocky Mountain National Park. They were very comfortable throughout the hike, and made it through some very wet and muddy sections of the trail without my feet getting wet. I like the way the toes are very comfortable and not too stiff which really helped with the elevation changes on the trails. Very happy with my purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Boots Ever. Comfi and Solid I am really delighted with these boots. I had a complex ankle fracture 5 years ago resulting in a plate and screws in my right ankle and lower leg. Almost all boots would rub against the hardware making it rather uncomfortable, even painful. These boots have a very flexible, soft lining that shield my ankle. The overall material is also fairly flexible (not stiff), still providing enough support so that accidentally "turning and ankle" while hiking on uneven surfaces is less likely. They are lightweight and so far waterproof. Great sole which grips well going up and down loose gravely surfaces. They do run small and for the first time in my life I bought a size 9. Normally I wear a size 8! I'd recoomend buying at least a half size up if not a whole size.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from So Cute but Hot Spots I loved the look of these boots and was so excited to get them in the mail. I would definitely recommend going a half size up (especially if your foot runs a little bit wide)! I am usually a 9 and purchased a pair of 9.5s and the fit was great! I wore them around the house with a pair of medium thickness wool socks and thought they were going to be keepers. However, when I took my dog out for a walk (less than 0.5 miles on the sidewalk) I quickly realized that I was getting hot spots on both inner ankles. My guess is that it was either due to a lack of padding around the speed hooks or that the tongue was wrapping around and chafing the same spot on each foot. With a lot of hiking miles on my horizon for this season, I just can't justify keeping them. So sad to see them go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable. Surprisingly so! I have tried on countless hiking boots and was VERY hesitant to order these online. Turns out out it was a good decision. I normally wear a 9.5 wide, so ordered up a half size to accommodate for a medium width and heavy socks. There is plenty of toe room and my heel doesn’t slip as long as I have my heavy socks on. If I were going to wear my normal padded, but not not heavy and thick, socks, I would go with a 9.5. For a medium width shoe, this one has plenty of room. Like a lot of women, I have a wide forefoot and narrow heel. I can’t attest to the waterproofing yet, but with all the snow forecasted for the Ohio Valley this week, I’ll be finding out soon! This boot is a bit stiff in the ankle area, but it’s not broken in yet and it’s soft enough that there shouldn’t be a problem when worn with high socks. I love the rocker bottom and arch support. Comfortable enough to wear to work where I’m on my feet on concrete all day. Last but not least, I LOVE the cream and blue color! Looks and feels so good I’m thinking of ordering the brown in a smaller size just to wear around for errands and less rugged terrain. Seems like it’ll have a good grip in snow and on rocky terrain. Can’t wait to try them out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super light weight Please please please make these in wide width!!! I want to keep them but they are just too narrow. They’re super light weight and propel you forward as you walk. I really love them but sadly they don’t have wide widths available

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! I have worn these boots for 3 weeks and they are wonderful. They feel like sneakers. Light weight, water proof and warm. I wear them at work (auto repair shop) with wet, sloppy floors and my feet feel great. I just might order another pair to have for next winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kind of a big deal These boots are kind of a big deal. I'd been meaning to get a good pair of hiking boots for the last several years, opting to hike in sneakers and thinking that I was fine, oh how wrong I was...these boots are a miracle. I was hesitant to purchase these without any reviews (there were none at the time) or being able to try them on, but I'm nothing if not a risk taker, so buy I did. When the box arrived at my door I picked it up and was worried they were the wrong item as I felt any hiking boot able to support my size 10 foot and loose ankles would need to weigh much more to be viable, much to my surprise they were, in fact, my new boots. Light as air and looking pretty cool with the saddle/dark earth color variety I was excited to try them on. The fit was just right, they were extremely comfortable and I felt like a kid again with my cool new shoes giving me extra super powers...cue moon walking around my apartment. The most important part of the boot for me was the rise/ankle support. I have what my friends and I call "gumby ankles" anytime I'm out for a walk/hike/run they just roll spontaneously, super cool. I have now been on a handful of hikes with these babies on multiple terrains - snow, ice, mud, rocks, roots, leaves, pavement. I'm happy to report Gumby Ankles: 0 Mountain Classic Hikers: 12 They have great traction, if there's a patch of ice with tiniest twig, pine needle, or spec of dirt for these boots to grip on to you will be staying upright. Overall Beans has nailed it, they have found a great combo of rugged boot with the feel of a running shoe. I highly recommend anyone looking for a good hiker to try these.
