Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not flattering at all I bought a pair in small and they were kind of bulky around the hips. Not at all flattering. No woman wants chunky looking shorts. It's as if the material was "gathered" there. I can use them when I don't care- like working in the yard. So, I bought some x small thinking I just bought the wrong size. Nope- same thing. When X SMALL makes a person look chunky and they are my size- something is wrong with the product. I kept them for the same reason, but I certainly won't buy more! Also, why the dorky colors? Your entire site looks like it's meant for people who are afraid dirt will show on their clothes!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Women's Tropic Wear Shorts After waiting a few weeks to receive these shorts, I can't even tell you what a disappointment they were when I tried them on. The waist would probably be ok, but they are huge everywhere else & the crotch hangs down a good two inches. I would imagine the size small would be too tight in the waist. I guess these are to supposed to replace the Cresta Trail Shorts, which I loved. These looked as if I was trying to wear men's shorts. They'll be going back tomorrow. Why do you always have to change a good thing?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice material, runs large Large in the waist and balloon hips. I ordered my usual LLB size according to the chart and they're huge on me. Honestly, they look like clown shorts. The cut is very, very curvy. Also, the belt is super long (like 8 inches extra length) and it's finished on the free end so there's no way to shorten it. I do l like that it's adjustable with a quick and easy buckle. The fabric and construction are top notch. I'm going to try a smaller size and see what happens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Pleased! These shorts are very straight cut, no contour at the waist -so the waist does run big. They do have a small section of elastic on either side. I like to wear my shorts at my waistline so I'll just pull the adjustable belt (which is very nice addition) tighter. I normally wear a size 8 in shorts/pants and could have easily gone with the size small instead of medium, but I prefer not to have cargo type shorts more fitted- especially in hot weather. I like them roomy! I bought both colors which are true to how they are depicted. I love the lightweight fabric and all how the pockets were worked into the overall design.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very comfortable These shorts are very comfortable, but the pockets are too small, they need to be deeper. My phone sticks out from the front pockets and the cargo pocket. If you are going to wear these hiking, you will need to wear a backpack or something else to make sure your car keys and phone are secure.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the same as last year I purchased 2 pair of these shorts last year, and loved them. In fact, they were pretty much the only shorts I wore all last summer and fall, and I should have bought more . As usually happens, the style has changed, and these are a disappointment. They gap at the sides, the pockets are different, the closure is now a snap instead of a button (I much prefer a button, but I can’t say why.)..they just don’t fit the same as last year’s tropicwear shorts. I don’t understand why a style that works can’t be left alone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Be patient The reviews I read which commented on the large, odd, ballooning fit of these shorts were all true, but I ordered anyway because garments which sit at the waist are scarce. I hate the low cut of modern styles. Here is what I have learned. These shorts do run a little large, and they look terrible when tried on right out of the shipping bag. However, if you are patient, wearing them, washing them, hanging them up to dry after a few minutes in the dryer, they do "calm down" and begin to fit. I believe the polyester fabric is stiff and has a great deal of body. The many pockets and zippers are put in awkward places to be flattering to most figures. As time goes by, washing and drying make the fabric more supple and the zippers lie flatter. The result is that after a few weeks, I am now very satisfied with my shorts and am enjoying them very much.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shorts for hot humid summers I wear these shorts while working in the yard and cutting grass (push mower). The fabric is excellent for the summer, especially on hot humid days. Very comfortable & durable and wash well. The reason for four stars instead of five is the belt that came with the shorts was too large. Perhaps it was a mismatch at the manufacturer?
