Women's Waterproof Ultralight Down Jacket is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, waterproof and durable I shopped extensively for a good winter coat that was warm and durable. I love the warmth and lightness of down, but I eventually snag and tear the thin shells. If you’re like me and are a bit rough on your coat (dog walking in the woods, yardwork, etc) this is the coat for you! It’s warm and waterproof, the adjustable hood has a rim that stays put and the exterior breast pocket is perfect for my phone. One reviewer mentioned the sleeves are a bit long but the adjustable Velcro wrist tabs solve that. It is not really slightly fitted so for those of us with curves up top, there is room to breath. The only suggestion I would offer to llbean is to make the hand pockets a little deeper so that they can hold a phone more securely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nailed it - finally! A ski parka that works from LL Bean. All these good features work for the skier: Hood is large enough to accommodate a helmet, zipper encloses the neck and face area well, plenty of inside and outside zippered pockets, insulation provides warmth enough without multiple bulky under layers, the bit longer body length provides good coverage when sitting on chairlifts. One last improvement needed now for all your ski parkas are a sleeve zippered area to accommodate the RFID cards used at most ski mountains.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from only coat that fit I inherited big hips from both sides of my parents! You're right, that's sad! I tried men's coats that were too long in the sleeves. I purchased the more fitted 850 coat that was snug at the hips, but this coat is just perfect!!! I can zip it up and still have a little wiggle room! I love the looks of the coat and it's very warm! Thank you LLBeran, for finally making a winter coat for a bigger hipped woman!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect mix.... For years I’ve wanted a really good waterproof, down jacket. This is it! If you want a shapely fit, this isn’t it. It has a boxy fit, but does the job on snowy days. The hood is roomy and adjustable. The down fill is perfect. It’s a keeper....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All of It I needed a coat to protect me from the winter elements on my city walks and rural hikes in Michigan. It was delivered just in time for our first snow storm. After a couple of hours traversing in the freezing rain and snow, I remained perfectly dry and warm. The longer sleeves and semi fitted core provides ample room and coverage during physical activity while remaining air tight - perfect for XC skiing. The black (L) version comes with a dark silver lining. Pretty cool. I’m always in a sweater and my arms slip in with such ease. Glorious. Oh, I blacked out the LL Bean logo on the front with a Sharpie. Not to worry, there’s another one on the back. A bit of overkill for me. Lastly, not a criticism rather an observation, it comes with a left handed zipper! I’m sure I’ll adjust to it just fine. ;) Great coat, hope to wear it for many winters to come.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works for Me I love the jacket, light weight and easy to wear, great for my morning walks! I found the fit fine, I just wish it had a flap over the zipper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this jacket!!! I was looking for something that was warm, lightweight, and waterproof. I walk everywhere, the weather changes every 5 minutes in New England and you need something waterproof in case it starts raining/sleeting while you’re out. This jacket is perfect. I’m a size 2-4 depending on the brand. I got the XS and the fit is perfect. I don’t find it boxy. To me, boxy is if it’s wide on the sides, and this isn’t. It’s a slightly fitted fit on the sides. If anything, it’s a bit boxy in front, which I don’t mind. I’ve worn it while out shoveling during snowstorms.I’ve worn it while out walking and got caught in rain/sleet storm. I stayed warm and dry each time. It does shed a bit, feathers on your clothes when you take it off, but otherwise I’m thrilled with this jacket. Love it, love the length, love the fit, love the warmth. I reach for it every time I go outside, and thinking of ordering in a different color!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great design Love this jacket: warmth, lightweight, true fit and especially like the hood and way it fits around chin. I can actually see my surroundings with the hood on, which is rare in most hooded jackets! I worked outside for much of yesterday, with temperatures in the teens, scraping snow off and often scraping snow accidentally all over me and I stayed warm and dry. Same was true when out feeding birds with snow falling; but one thing I do not like at all is the nylon zippers! Like most nylon zippers they take patience and I do not expect them to last very long at all. I love everything else about the jacket however, enough so, that I will probably hire a seamstress to replace these with “real” zippers! The zippers cheapen what otherwise is well-made and well-designed jacket. (Wonder if manufacturer would reimburse me for what I will ultimately pay a seamstress?). One other positive comment: I have a permanently “deformed” or limited-functioning right shoulder and have to have help putting on heavy parkas, etc.,; but this jacket is light enough I can put it on without assistance! That’s a big thing to me!
