Rated 5 out of 5 by from very comfortable So it took a second look when putting them on the first time - because of the inner "sock." But that's a few seconds out of my life - you will like this sock as it is comfortable and clings - keeping out debris, etc. The shoe is comfortable right out of the box but the heel at first seemed a bit "low" (or something - I thought it was going to slip - but it never did). It just feels different than my other Bean walking shoes and that's still okay. The laces are.....long. Very long. I suppose that's okay, too. BUT they are- for this type of shoe - EXCEEDINGLY GOOD LOOKING.. And that's very okay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most comfy I have an injured foot -9 screws & a 5” bicycle like chain put my heel together. Fatigue & swelling will always be an issue therefore, Im always looking for a supportive comfortable shoe. These fit the bill. Currently my favorites A pleasant surprise

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not made for men These shoes came with a elastic wrap which I did not expect that hugged your foot. I could not believe people that wear a size 12 men's would have a foot as narrow as these shoes were made ! I would think these were specialty shoes made for people with narrow feet. What are you folks thinking at L.L.Bean ? You are selling to American people with American figures and feet , your products do not any longer seem to fit American bodies. I remember a time when I relied on L.L. Bean for quality apparel but it appears you have sourced out your product line and your quality control as well. I am very disappointed and I need to find another outfitter for my needs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Vista Low lace Hiker A very comfortable shoe, light weight, and well shaped for comfort. The only surprise in the shoe was the webbed "sock" aspect. The shoe laces are decorative as the webbing keeps the shoe on your foot. It will be interesting to see how long lasting this feature is. If I was doing any substantial hiking that involves climbs, the shoes may be a little loose (not something one wants on a long uphill climb). They are great for short hikes and for moving around town.. I like them a lot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from heavenly I have tried several Bean brand shoes over the last couple of years and sent all back -- too stiff, too tight, rubbed my ankles, squeezed etc etc. Decided to give these a try and oh my, these are THE most comfortable things I have worn in recent years. Right out of the box. I ordered my usual 8.5 and a 9 just in case. I love them so much I returned the 9 to exchange it for another 8.5. I have hiked in these, worked out, walked the dog and just wear them in the house like slippers. Yes, they are a pain to put on, but if you don't mind keeping a shoe horn handy, once you have them on you will not want to take them off. The insole is just right - cushy but supportive. The laces are redundant because the "bootie" allows the shoe to be tight enough for me... so I treat them like a slip-on and keep the laces tied. When the slip-on and the ankle height hikers go on sale I plan to get those too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional shoe Buy this shoe. Then, buy a 2nd pair. You will find neither a more comfortable nor more durable shoe. Having spent half a lifetime playing all manner of sports poorly, shoes are difficult for me. 5 combined ankle sprains and 2 fused toe joints force me to be very selective. These Vistas from Bean are comfortable, durable, and empower me to tackle all sorts of terrain and activities that I likely wouldn't with a lesser shoe. The roomy toebox alone is worth a "Thank You" card.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Shoe inner liner I like the shoe. I do not like the elastic inner liner. The inner liner makes it difficult to put on.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good walking shoe Comfortable could use a little more cushioning and arch support.
