Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect gift! My brother is notoriously difficult to shop for. He usually dislikes any gift my mom and I pick out for him, especially clothes. My mom said he might want a sweater for his birthday.. He's a super casual dude, so I wanted to get him something versatile - nothing too "dressy" but nicer than a hoodie. It needed to be warm but not super warm - he lives in SC - and easy to take care of. I didn't get to see the sweater in person, but my mom (who received the package and gave it to him) said the cotton felt very warm without being too heavy. And my brother actually loved it! It met all the requirements I had for it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from just short..... Received this and immediately tried it on. I liked what I saw online and HOPED it was as generous as a sweater should be, but alas that was NOT the case. Arm holes are on the tighter side, fit overall at the 2xl size level was more snug than "sweater" like. I dont understand why LL Bean, an American company feels the need to call their "traditional" fit generous. It feels more european that anything else. Most "American" guys I work with are a bit on the healthy side! I mean at least offer a 3xl to quell the concerns of the bigger guys like myself. LL Bean, what gives? Are you not interested in making clothing for slightly larger guys?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 100% cotton - finally Thanks LL Bean for the 100% cotton cardigan sweater! Fleece = plastic and does not breathe, yet that is what most everyone sells. I've been looking for a well designed 100% cotton cardigan and they are hard to find. It fits great and is plenty warm for the cooler fall weather we have in NorCal. Also great in the house on cold mornings. I've washed it twice now in the regular wash and dryer, no problem. I recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! I was looking for a soft, comfortable sweater I could easily put on and take off and wear under my parka on really cold days, and I found it with this well made attractive seater. The blue denim color matches my jeans and my navy sweats pants very well. My daughter calls it my "Mr. Rogers" sweater, and I take it as a compliment. I'm retired and I'm comfortable and warm. So there!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps you warm This sweater fit my 5'9" frame perfectly and boy is it warm! This is NO-Light weight! This sweater was designed to keep you warm and look good in the process! I also think that this is a quality built sweater, the details are all on the mark and I expect it to last for a good long time. Has a quality YKK zipper too. Machine washable in cold, and having washable sweaters is another reason to buy a front loading washing machine. Lay it on a clean/dry bath towel after washing and let it dry and you're good to go.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Heavy Sweater... This is a very nice “Heavy” Sweater that does run large. I generslly wear X-Lge on most shirts, sweaters, etc....but my first order (an X-Lge) was huge...more like an XX- Lge. I returned it for a large size and it fits great

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Sweaters I have several of these sweaters in different colors (vintage indigo, saddle, and rustic red) and like the cotton material, the colors, the pattern, the feel and the mid-weight warmth. I had, and still have, several of the predecessor generations ("blue jean" sweaters) that I also like. This new generation seems to have a tighter weave and more interesting pattern. The new generation also has shorter sleeves and a shorter body length in my size (XL, Tall) which I like - the blue jean sweaters tended to run too long in both the sleeves and body. BUT, this new generation has one problem for me - the ribbed collar sits too high on the sweater (same 3" width as the old generation, but the start of the collar is about 6" from the shoulder, whereas on the old generation, the start of the collar is about 4" from the shoulder). The net effect is that when you zip up the sweater all or most of the way, the ribbed collar bunches up in front of your neck instead of laying flat; which can sometimes poke you in the chin. Maybe LL Bean can fix this for next year.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the look and warmth I run cold and wear sweaters often. Having a soft, warm sweater that I can put on and take off without having to mess up my hair - especially at work - is so nice. The sweater itself is substantial in terms of weight meaning it's a little on the heavier side but not overwhelming so by any means. I'm 52 years old and my kids tell me it's a total dad sweater which I don't mind because they actually like cozying up to me when I wear it. Overall, I'd recommend it.
