Men's Carefree Unshrinkable Mockneck Shirt is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 188.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mockneck Shirt I very much like the color and style of this shirt. I originally ordered a large, which generally makes for a nice lose fit for me. This one was tight, very tight. I returned it and ordered an X large. This one fits better, but still not as I expected and hoped. It's still not at all loose fitting. It's difficult to understand how the sizing of a man's shirt could vary so much. Isn't a large a large any more? Who is sizing these things? Isn't there quality control that would catch this odd sizing before it makes it into the catalog. After all these years of shopping at LL Bean and being delighted with the product, I am very disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fabric has changed What I received Nov. 2020 is not the same fabric I got a year ago--it was soft, almost like flannel, this year it has a sateen finish and feels very thin, like something I'd wear on a cool summer evening not a northern winter. I thought the fabric itself was thinner, but comparing the two this allusion seems mainly from the fabric weave. Neither are as thick as ones from the past. I have other such mockneck shirts from a competitor which I've found unsuitable in winter, unless worn under a long sleeve fleece or sweater, so I will be sadly returning these and continuing my search elsewhere, or maybe just sticking with the LLB flannel shirts which are both thick and soft, still.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bring back the Pima version Please bring back the pima cotton men's mock turtlenecks from a few years ago. Amazing quality, worth the additional $15-$20. This is merely average by comparison. And I never know what I'm going to get from one season to the next as you tweak the design or change suppliers.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from disappointing mock turtle I have bought this style of mock turtle neck for several years. Both on line & in store. I bought two shirts on line. I immediately noticed that the fabric was distinctly less substantial than previous mock turtle shirts. I compared them to shirts I had bought last year. I would call it "flimsy." I went to the store in Marlton, NJ, and spoke to a salesman about the shirts. We inspected those in the store, and found them to be of the same flimsy fabric. The salesman admitted that other customers had made mention of the lower quality also.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Baggy neck I have purchased several mock turtle necks, size medium tall, and have been (mostly) happy.. However, the neck on the last one was too big, sagging and baggy, right out of the bag. I will say that the necks on the ones from the last few years lose their elasticity in a short time. I have one I bought at least 20 years ago and the neck is still snug. Alll the others have become loose within 5 or 10 wearings. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great (as always) Not including socks, undershirts and underpants I own approximately 70 articles of clothing. Of those 13 are LL Bean pants and 42 are LL Bean Shirts plus some LL Bean vests (2), sweaters (4), belts (2), etc. sprinkled in. I've been buying from LL Bean for as long as I can remember. Needless to say their products are exceptional. Not only do they fit me well but they seemingly never wear out. I have one short sleeve polo that is starting to look a little rugged. I checked my records and realized that it is over 10 years old and has been worn and washed at least once a week in the summer since its purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not interlock cotton For at least a decade LL Beam sold interlock cotton turtle and mock turtlenecks. They were wonderful. These new models may not shrink, but they are a MUCH lighter weight fabric. The fabric is T-shirt material. I have no idea why they would drop such a successful product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from just ok First, I have been buying these mock turtlenecks for many years and these current shirts are no where what they used to be. I have purchased many colors and here is what i found, some necks were tight and some were not, the weight of the material is no where like the old turtlenecks and YES they do shrink. They mostly shrink in the sleeve length. What is interesting is that these LIGHT WEIGHT SHIRTS are the same price as the OLD HEAVY WEIGHT SHIRTS, INTERESTING!
