Great hat. Works great, but...
The quality is excellent and the "look" is just right for me. The light works very well and isn't intrusive or uncomfortable. It's easy to turn on/off. The battery compartment (holds two triple A batteries) is tucked away within a pouch just under the back of the side flap. Not super easy to get the batteries out. Don't pull the battery compartment out of the pouch by the wires and be very careful with the battery compartment clasps. They look like they can break easily. I would have given it a 5 if the batteries were rechargeable and all you had to do was connect a cable to recharge them. I walk at night and the thought of having to change/recharge the batteries a couple of times a week is no fun.

Love LL Bean and have rarely had an issue with any of their products…..That said, the light in this hat turned on, stayed on for about 6 seconds then turned itself off and stayed off. Changed the batteries, checked the wires, etc, but nothing. Its now a hat…
