Rated 2 out of 5 by from large? really? So I wear a medium tall: tee, flannel shirt, fleece liner, etc. If I want a little extra room I get a large. I got this jacket as a quick throw on for death-defying adventures like checking the mail, taking out the trash, you know, stuff like that. This thing is too tight. I know, I know, denial...river...Egypt, I get it. But man, Mr. Bean's model must be Twiggy's alternate universe son or sumpin' (now there's a cultural reference) cause this sucker is one tight 42-44 large. It is well made, and the fleece liner is nice looking. As a warmup? Errrr, pretty warm for that up. Maybe if I take my undershirt off? Nah. Back it goes, which is a pain in the okole.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cozy comfort with style I am extremely happy with this jacket. It fits well and provides warmth and style. The weight and insulation are just right for late fall/early winter here in eastern Iowa. The cuffs and bottom band are tight enough to keep out cold air and still are comfortable. The fleece lining is good looking and feels great. The collar protects my neck from cold. I recommend the jacket highly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic, with only one regret I first discovered this jacket while up in a cabin in Black Mountain, NC on my honeymoon. It was mid-November, and as a Florida native, I didn't have much but a hoodie or two to wear out and about in the cold. The cabin we were staying in had an old L.L. Bean jacket just like this one that I borrowed for the duration of our stay. At that point, I decided I had to get one. Two years later, and I have my very own L.L. Bean jacket just like the one I borrowed in NC. It's the first nice, expensive jacket I've ever purchased, but I knew that I'd eventually own one. My only regret is that I live in central Florida, and can only wear it but a dozen times a year. As for the fit, I'm a pretty tall and thin guy. I've never had a long-sleeved anything fit me well. Either the sleeves are way too short, or the torso is way too wide. That's why I decided to carefully measure myself, and purchase a Large Tall size. The fit is incredible. The moment people compliment my jacket, and build up so much suspense as I tell them that the jacket can do a magic trick. After their anticipation is palpable, I slowly stretch out one of my arms to reveal that the end of the sleeve doesn't creep up my arm as I do so. All that said, 10/10, would buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Katahdin warm up jacket I have gotten a lot of things over the years from Bean that I thought were sensational, not the least being this jacket I am completely satisfied by the interior warmth and wind resistance of the outer shell. Extremely comfortable and resistant to moisture. I normally wear a XL size but bought this in XXL and it is just right. I have developed a tendency to looking for and wearing this for most outdoor occasions. The Thinsulate insulation and fleece lining are a real plus here in New England. Knit cuffs are also great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love jacket hate print fleece lining I have had two or three of these over the past 40 years. It is my favorite jacket and could wear it 3 seasons of the year, I live in North Western NJ. I accidently burned my present one accidentally. I love this Jacket and my children identify me with it; the green with navy fleece. I wanted the same again but they now only have it with a printed fleece lining which reminds me of winter or Christmas. I absolutely cant stand that printed lining instead of the original navy fleece. i am ordering another but will have to switch from the green, which is my favorite, to another color with solid color lining. DON"T KNOW WHY THEY HAVE THIS TERRIBLE PRINTED FLEECE LINING. That being said I highly recommend these jackets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great functional wind proof jacket I bought LL Bean’s Katahdin jacket to wear in the late fall/winter in Vermont and to walk to work In New York City. Jacket is not bulky and warm, offers excellent wind block and is very comfortable. I thought the lining pattern was a bit dated but otherwise good value and well designed jacket for 20-40 degree weather.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Caution before buying I have ordered from LL bean for 30 or more years. I have had many, many such jackets. I am glad I read a review of this particular one that said it ran smaller. I ordered Medium which before at LL Bean was too big, but based on the said review tried this one. This one runs almost the size of the Small at LL Bean of the previous jacket I ordered (the Medium was too big so I tried a Small which was too small). So use caution. Quality-wise it is thinner than I remember former such jackets but still has quality appearance.
