Men's L.L.Bean Ridge Runner Pack, 15 Liter is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost ideal daypack This daypack is very good. Enough size for a light jacket, lunch or snack, small items, and holds two water bottles. It is light, stable and comfortable. The only changes I would like to see are using a course zipper instead of the fine zipper on the main compartment. Fine zippers just aren’t as strong and durable, I find. Also, the water bottle holders are fairly low cut and don’t secure the bottles well (especially full bottles) when bending over. They work fine, however, in most instances.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Water Bottle Pockets are horrible I got two of these packs for backpacking for day packs for exploring and hiking away from a base camp where the bigger packs are left. The quality seems good and I like the colors and comfort of the packs. They are small but that's what I wanted for a day pack to carry two Nalgenes, a lunch, and maybe a light jacket. The deal breaker for me is the water bottle pockets on the sides. They fit a 1L Nalgene like the description says but any slight movement causes the bottles to slide right out of the pockets. Bending over to pick something up, tie your shoe, or just setting the pack on the ground. This is really annoying and could possibly result in losing one or both of your water bottles. I would expect the retention on smaller bottles to be even worse because the tension on the bottle would be even less in the pocket. I've tried it with almost nothing in the pack and with the pack completely packed with the same results. I would recommend making the pocket taller to actually fit a 1L Nalgene to where the pocket covers the top rim of the bottle. The pocket is angled down to what would seem like so you can reach the bottle while wearing the pack. It is difficult but you can pull a bottle out while wearing it but it is impossible to put the bottle back in the pocket. If it wasn't for the issue which is a huge one to me I would probably keep them but will probably be returning both packs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Small structured pack I was looking for a very small, trim pack for half-day hikes. If you are wondering about the difference between this and something like your kid's bookbag, this has a fairly stiff foam back structure to give the pack shape and support. That might help with full or heavy loads, though I wonder if such a small pack needs it. I did not like the way it dug into my back, so I returned the pack and went back to the bookbag.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too small I needed a small pack for commuting and thought this one would fit the bill. While the pack seemed to be well made and lightweight, it is very small. It looked like it might be a child's pack. It certainly looked smaller than the online picture appears. A couple of items to note: on the plus side in the main compartment there is an inside sleeve to place a book for example. The description does not mention this. Also, the "sea kelp" color is darker than shown. The pack is more like a dark olive. It mentions that it can be used as a day pack. If so, it would be for a short hike only. I did see the dimensions of the bag and thought it was a typo because really, what pack is only 6.5 inches wide? Plus the picture seems to indicate a wider bag. In actuality, the upper part of the bag is about 9 inches wide but it tapers down, mummy like, to a 6.5 inch width at the bottom. I don't know why LL Bean designed it this way as it really cuts down on usable space. On the bright side, the LL Bean staff was very pleasant when I returned and exchanged it for a different bag. If you want a day pack for a child, this one may do. For an adult it may be too small. I also own the regular size Ridge Runner for hiking. For only $20 more, it is a much better value.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poorly designed outside pockets The smaller size of the pack interested me. A lot of nice features but the deal breaker was the depth of the exterior side pockets. They never secured any water bottle. Really disappointing! I really wanted this to be “go-to” daily hiking pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greta day pack! Great little daypack. I’ve used it on multiple day hikes and I keep it ready in my truck. It hangs from a headrest hook from the back of my driver seat packed and ready to go. All I have to do is add my water and go. Great size for my purposes of day hiking and just having a small back pack with my essentials in it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Pack but could be Better Good pack but the front and secondary internal pocket is a littel shallow but that wasn't a deal breaker for me. I've hiked about 7 hours so far with it and I'm happy. The main sack has plenty of volume for me.
