Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brown upland waxed cotton vest. This is not a lightweight vest. It is heavy and heavy duty as well. Much improved features over the lighter weight nylon version I’ve been using for over 20 years and doesn’t fit so well now. Water bottle holders and more useful pockets. I also do not like blaze orange on my vest which this one doesn’t have. I use a blaze hat and bandannas to be be legal and seen when necessary but in this strange world there are times when I prefer to watch my surroundings and not attract attention. This is not a budget vest but if you can deal with the weight, this is a vest that your grand children will likely pass on to theirs. I would’ve probably bought the nylon version again had it been available without the blaze shoulders.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the vest This was a man's small vest but it still fits. I love it. I can take all my stuff when I am out with the dogs. It has an unbelievable number of pockets. Well made. The pockets are strategic, large. Well designed. I highly recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great vest for shotgunning and outdoors I was very pleased with the vest when it arrived. It appears to be well made and sturdy, I suspect it will last many years. The game pouch is very roomy going from front to the full back and is lined with what feels like a waterproof material. In addition to the front entry to the pouch there is rear side entry and the entire back unzips from the top for cleaning, a very handy feature. Plus there is a secondary map pocket on the back of the vest over the game pouch. A couple of notes on pockets, and the reason for only 4 stars. The description says: "Zippered hand warmer pockets behind lower cargo pockets." There are no such pockets. Also the front cargo pockets have only one button at the back side of the pocket flap, the front edge of the pocket flap is sewn down. So while they are big enough for a box of shells, good luck getting the box in there. It would be better if there were a button on each side. of the pocket flap. I will need to have my tailor remedy that. Also the upper front hand warmer pockets that do exist are Napolean style pockets and they are unlined, so not exactly hand warming. However my intent is for Spring through Fall use so I don't mind. Something that is not mentioned in the description is that there are also two water bottle pockets on the sides of the vest with elastic tops, perfect for 32oz. Nalgene bottles. I wear a size 48 jacket and this fits with a bit of extra room, I could easily wear a sweater under it without difficulty. The waxed coating is nice and heavy, not quite as heavy as Filson does it, but I suspect more than sufficient. Overall I am happy with the vest and look forward to many years of use in the field.
