Men's Swift River Swim Shorts is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 98.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Live Up Tp Their Name I just got into kayaking and my favorite khaki shorts just don't cut it - they soak up the lake, get heavy, and turn a dark color that stay wet in the crotch long after everywhere else has dried off. Found nothing in the Women's section to help but these in a Medium size are great. The latch in the left pocket is great for securing a penknife, the zippered pockets help to insure other possessions don't go with the flow. And they don't change color when wet and wick dry quickly. Comfortable too - neither sticking to the body nor heavy when wet. So I'm writing to let the girls know you've got some really decent river shorts!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from New design not an improvement These Swift River shorts have been my go-to shorts for all around summer activities for several years. I use them for hiking, running, and swimming. This year the change in the lining and the cut of the shorts resulted in a less comfortable, tighter fitting short. The old style was perfect for me, and I assume with the company's statement that this short is their most popular swim short, that the old style was great for others as well. Why change something that is working!! I will be wearing the new style only for swimming, because of the narrower fit in the seat and legs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Uncertain to start I wanted a set of shorts to wear around the house and yard for chores. When I got the shorts, I didn't initially like them. The belt has a plastic buckle and quickly got tossed and replaced with the regular LLB leather belt I usually wear. I was concerned about the fabric. I was expecting something more heavy weight. These are designed to dry quickly and that changes the fabric used. I had in mind canvas and these are not that. All that said, these have grown on me with use. The internal mesh makes wearing skivvies optional. The fabric seems tougher than I originally thought. I do expect they will perform well over time - minus the belt.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Something Changed Fit is Different Been wearing Bean River Shorts for many years. Have more than 10 pairs between two homes. They are my go to casual shorts, I wear them almost everyday and anywhere. So, am a big fan of these shorts. My last order for two pairs fit differently than previous pairs. Sometimes different is better, not this time. The elastic lining tugs on the legs and makes it uncomfortable to sit or sometimes walk. The waist ban does not hug your waist like previous pairs. The integrated belt is much shorter, just barely has enough length to tuck into the first belt loop. So something has changed. Looking at the tags, the new pairs were made in Vietnam, previous pairs were made in China. Seems like something changed with the transition to the new manufacturing location. Or maybe it’s just a QC problem. Either way, the fit of these shorts has declined.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sized too small and low cut My husband has enjoyed wearing these swim shorts for years, particularly on cruises and at the beach. The ones received this time are too small. The Standard Fit is too low on the waist. They are tight through the hips and thighs and short stride. His old ones in the same XL size fit perfectly. Very disappointed with the change in size/fit. The old ones must be Classic Fit? Why did you change sizing?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Once very good, now not so good :( These are (older style) my favorite “go-to” summer and/or warm weather vacation shorts...the current older style I have I pretty much live in during summer and they are still going strong. Sadly, as others have commented, LL Bean changed the liner for the worst. They are very tight and for guys it’s in a place you really don’t want something to be tight. Just not comfortable in general and lousy air flow, I can only imagine that a cost cutting decision was involved in the new liner...please LL Bean...I buy your stuff for quality long last products...if keeping the original (perfect) lining would have raised the cost a couple of bucks, that’s fine with me! In the pict, the grey liner is the newer style (blah), the white liner (think bathing suit) was the older more comfortable style. I won’t be buying more of these shorts until I hear LL Bean has gone back to the older style liner!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What Happened? I've ordered Swim River Shorts before. They were a true 9" inseam. The pair I received in my recent order were way too short. QC is slipping. I'll never order theses shorts again. Please send me a full refund. Thank you.
