Excellent quality and comfort for my Buddy

Just what we needed for my Battle Buddy
My 60 pound Labrador service dog loves his new bed. And I'm very happy that we chose this one for him. He hops right on it and smiles at Dad with those eyes of his, and we bond even more.

very disappointed-not L.L.Bean quality
This smelled mildew, the smell was very strong. I let it air out, that did not help. I washed the bed, that did not help. I hung all of it outside to air out the second time. Still smells. I do not want my dog to lay on this and breath the odors from this bed. Construction of the bed is fine, I bought one just like this 15 yrs ago from L.L.Bean it was fine, my dog loved it, that's why I bought this one.

Our dogs love this bed
Both of our dogs have this bed to sleep in at night. Downstairs we have a rectangular fleece covered LL Bean bed. This bolster bed gives them a whole other level of comfort. They rest their heads on the bolster like a pillow and look so very comfortable. Very easy to remove cover to launder and I like how the center oval is a separate piece. Very happy with this bed. I bought one for my sons dog as a gift and he loves it too.

Oh the unholy stench
Let me start by saying I love LLBEAN. That being said something has changed with these beds and the stench is indescribable.
Back story. One dog. I bought the first bed many years ago. Dog loves it, I love it, no complaints still going strong.
In 10/2021 I bought a second home and thus a second identical dog bed. On opening I was overwhelmed by a chemical stink. I figured it was just from manufacturing, warehouse etc. Set it in the sun for a few hours to air and then let my dog have it.
A few days later I started to notice a stench both in the room with the dog bed and attaching itself to him. Not believing it was the bed, I tried everything. Dog baths, changing food, washing bed cover as nauseous, vinegar, baking soda, enzyme sprays, vet visit, and including eventually washing the fill and finally restuffing the bed.
Finally I gave up. I ordered a new $220+ dog bed. Only to find a month later. Same issue. IT’S THE BED.
Thank God I at least had the foresight to save the cover from the last bed so I can rotate the covers in the wash weekly.
I am so disappointed.

Not LL Bean quality
I bought the large bed and regret it. The sides are ok but the bottom is too thin and doesn't seem to fit correctly especially after being washed. The pet couch in the denim type fabric is much better and easier to clean

Perfect
I purchased this bed last year for my small dog, and she just loves it. She always want her head raised and this has the perfect bolster around it. The height is just right. Her other beds had higher bolsters, and she didn’t look as comfortable. I have washed it several times, and it comes out perfectly. Well made and comfy!
