Men's Classic Supplex Sport Shorts, 8" is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 203.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from not like the originals I've bought these shorts at least three times over the last 10 years, and they've always fit well and worn well (although recent pairs aren't wearing as well as the originals). These most recent two pairs I just bought (Large -- same size) are way too big in the waist and are baggy in the legs, and they seem to have very lightweight elastic, so that it doesn't "hug" my waist very tightly. I have to use the drawstring from the very beginning to hold them up! I'm trying an exchange for mediums, but I'm not optimistic about the fit. I'll update this when I see them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific shorts I got these shorts to wear during recovery from a stroke in a wheelchair. I wanted some shorts that would be comfortable sitting in the chair or lying in bed or visiting with people. These fit my needs perfectly. The fit was just right and true to size and the elastic was comfortable either sitting or lying. The shorts are water repellant making it easy to clean up minor spills in my lap. Colors hold up very well to washing and don't fade out. Mine have been washed over 10 times and still look New. I can say that there is nothing negative about these shorts. It would be even better if available in a longer version. About 2" longer and they would be perfect. Highly recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Faded very quickly This product review is of PAST similar identical bathing suit that now has a “history.” I swam in this bathing suit about 35 times, avg. 1 hour each, in chlorinated indoor pool (avg. chlorine level, 2.5 ppm). Bathing suit never saw the sun, and was rinsed in cool water after each swim. SUIT FADED from blue to v. light blue to almost white. Otherwise, stitching and interior mesh held up well. Fit was good. (I bought 2nd bathing suit to see if experience replicates. I’m a big L.L. Bean fan.) NOTE: In photo I folded over waist band - unaffected and original color of *entire* bathing suit - to show color and contrast.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice shorts! I’ve worn these Supplex shorts for years and decided to add a few new pair. These are the best version so far. They fit great! Very comfortable cut but still don’t look big or baggy. But what I like most is the thicker, more substantial, material. Not overly thick, just more body to the fabric. Previous version was a little too thin. New colors are nice too. I do think they are a little pricy but a good short nevertheless. They dry quickly and can be used easily as shorts or swimsuit. I really like them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Everyday Shorts I got three pair of these shorts for my college-aged son. He spends a lot of time outdoors hiking and fishing in the summer and has worn these every day that they are clean. Even though they are advertised as swim trunks, he wears them as regular shorts. I did have to cut the lining out-he can't stand them even in swim trunks and I've given up finding shorts like this that don't have the linings in them. Other than that, they are great shorts and since they are LLBean I know they will last!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dont ever change these Got the new versions with the Katahdin logo and am loving it. Perfect fit, they are relaxed but not sloppy. I wear this with T-shirts / button down oxfords and they dont look out of place at all. A very relaxed 'dadcore' look. These are the only shorts I own in my wardrobe. Will keep buying them till the day I die as long as the fit / quality remains the same * the previous iterations (without the logo) seem to fuzz up after owning them a while, hope these dont.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Sport Shorts These "sport" shorts are really nothing more than swim shorts. They have a mesh liner with tight leg openings. Basically they would only be comfortable going commando. I bought them to be true sport shorts...something to wear casually as lightweight active shorts (with underwear). I was expecting something similar to the multi sport shorts I like, but those were only made from 2012-2014. Marketing these as sport shorts is deceptive. Since I can't get multi sport shorts any more, I opted to keep these and cut out the liners. These also have less elastic in the waist forcing me to tie them with the draw cords. The old multi sport shorts fit perfectly without cinching the draw cords.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from baggy outside, loose 'n' flimsy inside When I took these out of the package and looked at them, I wondered if I'd been sent a size Large by accident. No, on the shorts it said Medium (32-34 on the LLB size chart). But the fit was what I'd call a Medium-Large (or a Large-Medium?). They are baggy; I'm a 34" waist, but the shorts were so "generous" that I had to pull the drawstring tight to make them stay on as they'd need to while swimming. The other problem is that the inside mesh lining was very flimsy, and struggled to do its job . . . if you know what I mean. So I'll be returning the shorts after a very brief and unhappy time together.
