Men's Tek Upland Waterproof Jacket is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Material good, design poor This jacket is not up to LL Bean standards. The material is excellent - breathes well, keeps me dry and is so far fairly abrasive resistant. The fit and details need a lot of work. Overall fit is huge around the waist, made worse by the low pockets which billow out, and then catch hazardardously on things you brush by; the velcro cuff connection is way too weak - I ripped mine nearly off the second time I wore the coat; the zipper and flap connection from hood to jacket lets in both wind and rain - the zipper is too short, and the flap too small to be effective; the jacket needs a tightening cord at the waist, in addition to the existing one at the bottom hem

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product but.... Opening weekend of pheasant season, South Dakota: temp 40, light rain blown by 40 mph winds, gusts over 50. This jacket bailed me out, saved hunt. Only regret: miss the Goretex of earlier model, would like a bit more warmth....but layers up well, durable, good pocket location....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good BUT.... The jacket is exactly what I expected it to be,not heavy, well designed etc...etc..I didn't have it long enough to find out if it is REALLY waterproof but I think it'is ! The only problem I have is with the zipper which is unusually hard to operate starting with putting the two pieces together until it will accept to move up and the worst part is trying to open the zipper from the bottom up a few inches to allow more legs movement .....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice update I had previously worn the field coat, from Bean, for about 10 years. I wanted a new one and the waterproof properties sounded great. I've already had several birds in it. The ONLY downfall I can mention is that it's not as easy to stow birds, like the other one. Other than that, it's light, tough and very comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made, durable Only time will tell, but the garment appears well made and durable. The zipper takes about 5 or 6 uses to get broken in to easily engage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Jacket Bean hit one out of the ballpark with this jacket! Light, well designed garmet that truly is waterproof and, yes, it does breath. And I’ve been wearing Bean hunting gear for 60+ years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional product; warmer than expected. Just finished several days hunting South Dakota pheasants in snow and record-low temps for this time of year. While advertised mainly as a waterproof upland jacket, I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked as a wind-breaking outer shell, sealing in core warmth provided by thermal base layers despite no interior lining whatsoever. The fit was perfect, allowing for those base layers but not feeling either baggy or tight, both of which would adversely affect shotgun mount (not one snag on the way up to mount, which was important this year for birds holding so tight). It also passed a significant toughness test by not showing one fiber out of place after days of walking through CRP, shelter belts, cornfields and milo. A couple notes on features not used: 1) I didn't use the game bag because I usually wear a separate strap vest, but it's as roomy as advertised and seems to be easy to reach/use. 2) I removed the hood for this hunt but played with its fit beforehand. It seemed a little awkward, falling down too far past my brow and into my line of sight. But again, not using it in the field prevented me from adjusting further for a better fit out of necessity. L.L. Bean developers hit a home run with this one...very impressed.
