Men's Mountain Classic Insulated Anorak is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 56.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mountain Classic Anorak Bean's must have finally started making these again, which is good to see. I have one that they made probably twenty years ago, but it has Thinsulate insulation instead of this newer material. I have always loved this thing, even though it isn't waterproof. I love the big pockets, and the ability to lower the zipper when getting over heated. It has saved me countless times, on early spring fishing and camping trips, or as a layering for ice fishing, cross country skiing, etc. Well worth the money! My old one has patches on it from melting the nylon via the exhaust of a gas ice auger, etc.....if I have a good fall, I may replace it with this newer version.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wonderful product, but I bought the anorak for my partner for our anniversary in December. I bought the women's one for myself as well as we were going to go stargazing and it would be really cold. The anorak has been amazing! The stowaway function makes it really convenient to bring around and on flights. It has kept us warm for the past couple of months. I would highly recommend it! However, one day when my partner wanted to cinch the anorak on the bottom, he noticed that his string has snapped and the little piece was gone. As much as he loves the anorak, this was upsetting since he has taken good care of it. Hopefully, his anorak was just a fluke as it has been amazing overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I have been looking for this kind of anorak for a few year, and while wandering into the LL Bean store in Madison, WI recently, finally found it...on a sales rack. The fit and the weight of the jacket are perfect, allowing me the luxury of layering to fit the weather. Alone, this would be great for late autumn, for temperatures in the 30-40 degrees Fahrenheit range. I can't quite comment on its water resistance/repellent qualities yet, but I can always use a treatment to enhance that quality. I am happy with this purchase (especially with it being on clearance)!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wanted to love it but poor craftsmanship ruined it I really wanted to love this jacket, but I ended up returning it a few weeks after purchase due to shoddy stitching. I had noticed there were stray threads sticking up here and there. When I inspected further I could see that an entire run of stitches on the front shoulder area had started come out! The stitches had retreated about an inch from where they should have ended. Not at all what I would expect for a $90 jacket, after only three weeks, from a 108 year old company. The jacket did perform well, it was reasonably warm and water resistant. I’m hesitant to replace it with another LL jacket however seeing these standards. Might be better to find something from Pata-youknowwho or a different brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Came in mammoth size as always As with most of LL Beans clothing, their sizes are very hard to pin down. I ordered a large because it’s what I usually take by the standards of every other clothing company in the world. This coat showed up and it was as big as a circus tent. Furthermore, when I went to swap it out for a smaller size I ran into difficulty because I used “bean bucks” and they wouldn’t allow me to reapply them for some stupid reason. So terrible sizing and giant hassle with customer service. I think LL bean needs to do some hardcore research on how other companies size their clothing. What a run around.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Almost Looks great, feels great, really warm, BUT I’ve only had this for two weeks and have worn it approx. 6 times and it has already begun to show wear. The insulation is pilling out of the jacket on the sides where I swing my arms. Disappointed by this sign of extreme premature wear. Especially noticeable since it is black and if you try to pull it out, it just keeps coming out. Wanted to try other colors but now I think I’ll look for something else.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great jacket if it fits This a great jacket for fall in upstate New York as it provides the warmth and weather resistance you need in cold fall weather. The only problem is the sizing, I am more of a stocky build and take a X-Large in most brands but lucky I have a store near me and was able to go in and try this on. I found the X-Large was way to big and decided the Large was more appropriate. The shoulders of the large are just a little to tight and I find difficulty when driving and wearing the jacket. If the jacket could be an inch or two bigger at the shoulders it would be perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Close to perfect I'm an anorak guy. I think they're simple and practical. Bean really nailed it with this one. Its basic with no extra side zippers or pockets. Layered over a base layer and fleece and you're good into the teens. Wind does not penetrate it and it's pretty water resistant. The hood is very well designed. It is very easy to stuff the jacket into it's own pocket and while wearing it, the stuff pocket serves well as a wallet/cell phone/car key pocket. My only gripe is that it's a bit tight in the chest/armpit area. This is an issue with all of Beans anoraks. Please fix this problem.
