Rated 5 out of 5 by from My happy (rear)ending Finally. Soft. So, so, soft. Comfy, adjustable waist, which I tied once and never touched again. Good pockets. Lightweight. Tough and quick drying. Long enough to cover what needs covering, yet short enough that I don't feel like I'm wearing old lady shorts. I bought two of these this summer after surviving several years of summers with "make do" shorts that either bunched around my legs or didn't fit quite right in the waist. I took both pairs with me on a hot family vacation to Florida. They pack tiny. I'd take them off at the end of the day, shake out the sand, and put them back on the next morning. Worth every penny!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too Long and Seriously Baggy These shorts had an awkward fit for my apple shaped body - way too long and seriously baggy in the leg. They had almost an A line like flair, which was super unflattering at that length. I got them hemmed - taken up and in on the leg, and they now fit like a glove. They are perfect, but I paid a lot to make a custom fit. I will wear they daily, so it is worth the price, but buyer be ware. Also, the other reviewers comments re: piling from the wash were unfortunately right. I turn them inside out to wash, which I think helps, but still for a daily wear athletic short, I would have hoped for a more easy care fabric.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these like I like your Vista Camp pants I have written reviews for your Vista Camp pants which are fabulous for travel, hiking, or day to day dress. These shorts are very similar, but short :-) Fabric is lightweight, but stretchy. I have broad shoulders and am average build. Typically I wear large in shirts, or size 12 in dresses and pants. But based on the size chart I ordered Medium. I was sure I messed up, even while pulling these on. My initial thought was on dang they're too tight. But they weren't. They have give and they look nice. I wear them with shirts that cover my tummy. I highly recommend these shorts and I even went and bought three more pair in other colors. I'm 55. These are not too long and not too short. Just right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versitile and very comfortable shorts I initially bought a pair of the capri pants in this cut/material and liked how light-weight the material was so I ordered 2 pair of the shorts. These are perfect for any outdoor activity. The material is light weight and is non-binding so they are comfortable plus they look good too. I recently wore these to visit Jazz Festival in New Orleans and it was hot, humid and I was sitting on low camp chairs and sometimes the ground. They didn't stain easily and, while I was sweaty, the shorts allowed air flow. I ended up washing one pair in the sink in our air B&B and they dried overnight -- so perfect for packing on a trip. I would definitely recommend and I may purchase another pair -- need more colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy Extremely comfortable shorts! I actually was going to purchase the Comfort Trail Short since I love those and came across these. Figured I should try these as they have a more relaxed waistband and similar material. I love them. Easy to pull on and will be perfect for hot weather without binding at my waist. I will say they do run a tad large. I wear a size 6 and bought the small. The drawstring is doing nothing but it does function. If you are smaller hips and waste than a 6, I suggest sizing down. I have more than enough room in these. They shouldn't shrink given the material. Definitely purchasing another pair soon.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware These shorts are lightweight and great in very warm weather. They are extremely comfortable to wear. I liked them and bought one in each color. My advice in the care of these shorts: - Turn inside out before placing in the washer. - Wash using delicate cycle. - Line dry only. I’ve had to replace each pair because the pilling was very so bad... after one wash (which is why I advised the above). If I hadn’t found them so comfortable and flattering, I would not have replaced them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from great comfort but bad pilling Although I loved these shorts when I first received them they have pilled very badly on the front of both legs. I even went to purchase a second pair they were so very comfortable during the heat of summer! But with the pilling they look older than one season's wear. Unfortunately will not be buying another pair as I'd like to have items that can be worn at least a couple of years without such wear being apparent, especially at their price point!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Hiking Short Yes! Buy these shorts for hiking. I had brought a pair of hiking shorts with me on our trip to Utah from a different company and after one day on the mountain, needed a better pair - thank goodness for the Park City L.L.Bean store and the Vista Camp Short! The fabric is flexible (pliable, easy for hiking up steep inclines), lightweight, and durable. We had HOT weather hiking and these shorts were perfect. The elastic waist with drawstring allowed for comfortable and consistent fit even with backpack and uphill/downhill movement. I recommend 100% for hiking.
