Rated 5 out of 5 by from I think you got it right this time I've tried L.L. Bean chamois shirts before. The first time the fabric was too stiff and the pocket flaps were not attractive. The next time the fabric was too thin and the body had too much shaping. Then I tried the men's version and shortened the hem and sleeves but it did not look very good on me. So far I like this version. A size medium fits loosely with room for a turtleneck under, which is what I like. No pocket flaps! The fabric is thick but soft.If it does not shrink too much I'll say it's a winner.I gave it 5 stars anticipating minimal shrinkage if I keep it out of the dryer. For reference I am 5' 6" 130#.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Green Chamois Shirt I've bought several of these chamois shirt in the past from LL Bean--in fact I still wear them but they're looking worn after five years--and ordered this one in the same size, a Regular X-large, as in the past, and in a similar color of (as shown online) deep emerald green. What I received this afternoon was a size too small, even the sleeves were an inch too short; and the color was a dark forest green rather than emerald. I will send it back tomorrow. Several weeks ago, I bought two plaid shirts in the same size, which fit perfectly. At the moment, consistency and quality control appear uneven across LL Bean products. Disappointing!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice fabric, odd sizing Loved the fabric, but a small in this shirt isn't anything like a Bean's women's small in any of their other shirts. This shirt is uncomfortably narrow cut in the shoulders and sleeves, and tight to the point of placket gaps and strained buttons across the bust. For comparison, I'm 5'4", 135 lb, C/D bust, and own several Bean's women's flannel shirts that fit perfectly or even a little loose. I had to send this shirt and its olive-colored mate back - if they were that tight out of the package, there was no way they were going to fit after washing. Hoping to try a medium and see if the sizing is any better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Back for more! Last year I purchased this shirt in both navy and light blue, and was so pleased with them that I am back for new colors. I just bought the black forest green, a deep, beautiful color, and the dark plum, which is gorgeous. I am fair with blonde/graying hair, and cannot wear warm colors. These are cool and beautiful hues on me. This chamois shirt is one of the most comfortable, easy-to-care-for, cool weather shirts I have ever found. The PXL fit me well, big enough for layering, but not at all sloppy looking. I have short hair, and love turning up the collar so the denim trim shows. Very flattering. Love, love, love these shirts!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought Four of these shirts I have purchased four of these shirts. One in the dark gray, one in the dark plum, one in the green and one in the Mariner Blue. These shirts are very well made and wash up like a dream. I suspect they will last a long time and they are replacements from some older cotton shirts I bought from L.L. Bean over 10 years ago that really need to be replaced. These shirts do shrink a small amount, but just enough to make the fit perfect for me. I cannot recommend these lovely chamois shirts enough! The green is much darker that you see on the computer, it is a darker green that makes it that much more perfect. Buy one, you will not be disappointed! Thanks for another winner L.L. Bean!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wish I could wear LLBean buttoned shirts. I really miss the quality that used to be LLBean. They have minimized the material in chest, decreased the placket size and reduced the number of buttons used, because of these short cuts, all of LL Bean buttoned shirts gap across the chest. Please redesign at least some of your shirts to fix this problem. I have several friends that have also had to stop purchasing LLBean shirts for the same reason! I know things have become more expensive and I would pay extra to have the better quality (also fabric matching at the seams!) rather than pay the same price for a reduced quality product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Thanks, Bean, for making a women's shirt with the heft and quality of the men's chamois shirt. This is heavier than flannel and well made. It's nice to have a solid color. I'm 5'2" and weigh 113. I ordered the Petite Medium. It's plenty roomy and the sleeves and length are just right. it could be worn as a light jacket as the weather changes. If you want a closer fit, go a size down as it is a generous cut. Bean, please, please make a woman's version of the men's River Driver Henley. As you did with this shirt, don't change a thing except the fit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not happy with shirt My wife purchased a chamois shirt earlier in the year and wasn't happy with it. Being a chamois shirt purchaser for many many year I decided to purchase one for her. I picked out one based on the description and figured it was very close to the chamois shirts I have purchased for myself. Unfortunately that was not the case. Women's chamois shirts are nothing like men's chamois shirts. The quality is not the same. Question, why can't LL Bean take a man's chamois shirt and reverse the buttons and button holes and make it a woman's chamois shirt? People, there are women with curves that are more concerned with warmth and would welcome a heavy weight well made chamois shirt.
