Men's PrimaLoft Packaway Hooded Jacket is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 130.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very warm without bulk. I bought this product to try to replace a parka that is very bulky. This jacket is exactly as described. I have worn this on very windy days with temperatures between 20 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The wind is totally blocked by this. I've also worn it in snow. It is very comfortable even when shoveling heavy snow. Described as water resistant and that's true. I don't believe this jacket will do well in the rain. This would also be good layered beneath a shell for rainy extremely cd temperature. This looks stylish too. The zippers are very good quality. The zippered hood really keeps the wind off my head and neck. I highly recommend this item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfectly Lightweight and Warm This jacket is the most prized possession that I have for outdoor wear. It is an amazingly warm layer for its thinness. Perfect for added insulation or a stand alone in the cold. I had been wearing an LLBean 850 Down Jacket for a long time but found it to be bulky to pack and left feathers here and there. With these things in mind, I switched to the Primaloft form on insulation and was awestruck by the amount of warmth that was kept by such a thin coat. I feel just as warm, but with added mobility! Also, the addition of the hood is fantastic when the wind kicks up. I would recommend this jacket to anyone that is looking for winter warmth with a comfortable "barely there" feel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not so great at keeping you warm unless The jacket looks nice and has a nice feel while on. However, make sure to read the guidelines associated with the temperature range this jacket, or any one I suppose, is targeted for. The assumption is that under the jacket you are wearing BOTH a thermal layer AND fleece. If you do that you might just stay warm in this jacket. Otherwise, under about 35 degrees it doesn't keep the cold out so much. As a result it ends up not being the greatest jacket say, to walk your dog around the block in the winter because you'd prefer to just put on a coat rather than multiple layers. It's a good three-season jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket Bought this jacket specifically for our trip to Peru during their winter season. We packed light as we were moving around a lot. I wore it often, it kept me warm down to the mid 30s with a few medium weight layers underneath. Also kept me dry during a surprise rain storm while walking around Machu Picchu.....the built in hood was a winner! I'm looking forward to using it this winter on our trips to Michigan. It opens quickly and packs up in a jiffy, after a few practice tries. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in need of a medium to heavier weight jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprisingly Effective I received the jacket as a birthday present. The jacket was true to size and the fit and finish was excellent. For it's weight, it is surprisingly warm. During the recent polar vortex (5 degrees, -15 wind chill) I wore this jacket over a fleece sweater pullover and was warm, never cold. It also fits well under my hard shell when it's raining or snowing. The hood does cover well, but there is no cinch to make it tighter. Also, the nylon does not appear to be extremely abrasion resistant. Those two items prevent me from giving it 5 stars. Other than that, the jacket is a bargain for cross core insulation and has kept me warm this winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much warmer than expected I bought this jacket to keep me warm when backpacking and its wash ability. I have been impressed with how warm this lightweight jacket keeps me. I intention was only to stay warm to 30 degrees. So far I have used in conditions down to 8 degrees with a light breeze, which is where the wind blocking properties are really noticed. I have noticed that I get sweaty, over time, with this jacket even in cold conditions, which may have something to do with the waterproofing. I am not sure why, but I have less of a sweating issue with my down jacket, although this jacket feels much warmer. Some sort of drawstring on the hood might be a nice addition, but has not been a problem. Overall I am very happy with this purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it I purchased this jacket for a mid-November to early-December (Spring there) trip to Patagonia. I love the jacket because it's so light weight, but also durable for travel. We hiked, including around glaciers. It's not a rain coat for a heavy downpour, but adequate for light, misty rain. When it rained heavily I wore an over jacket and rain pants. I bought large so I could wear a heavy shirt, or light fleece layered underneath. I put a light-weight cap in a pocket for cold weather and also used the hood. We had very strong wind during the trip and the jacket was breathable while blocking the wind. I continued to wear the jacket on all but the coldest days through the winter in Atlanta.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket! Awesome Jacket! Super lightweight (no Michelin man look) yet keeps you warm easily down to 20 degrees. Pair it with a sweater fleece and you're good down to 0 or lower with a wind-chill (that's been my experience at least). I'm 6'4, 215 with an athletic frame and the large tall fits perfect and isn't baggy.
