Women's Scotch Plaid Flannel Nightgown is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 740.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from It's the pockets. . . Having worn the pintucked dobby Vintage nightgowns for years it was pleasing to see what I thought were similarly designed nightgowns in plaid flannel. What I was not expecting were the pockets. As the flannel is soft and warm the gown is generally comfortable. However, the pockets bunch up after washing and feel like wads of fabric on the side seams. A few times I've stuck my hands in the pockets because they are there, but I do not need pockets in a nightgown and I certainly do not need or want pockets that get bunchy and waddy with washing. I suspect ironing the pockets could help reduce the annoyance, but that is not going to happen.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nice nightie, but don't wash it! I just bought the Royal Stewart nightgown & was looking forward to wearing it for a long time since I've had 2 nightgowns in this style (the Vintage). So, as always, I washed it before wearing it. Everything in the wash, including my husbands shirts & pants came out covered with red fuzz - handfuls of fuzz! Washing machine has to be cleaned up as well as the dryer both of which are full of red fuzz. It has taken me hours, using wide packing tape to get the red fuzz off of pants, shirts, underwear, socks. We're talking fuzz covering every inch of the clothes. I will be returning the nightgown tomorrow. Can't have a nightgown that can't be washed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor imitation of a previously great nightgown I am so disappointed in the revised version of your classic flannel nightgown. What was a well tailored, nicely fitting gown made of quality fabric is now a baggy, shapeless gown with cheaper, linty fabric and bulky pockets. The flannel used to hang nicely but not now; it used to have 14 tight, pin tucks on either side of the placket - now it has 4 wide ones; it used to have back pin tucks coming from the collar - now there is a yoke and again instead of tight tucks they are wide. The sleeve cuffs are too big. This tailoring is for a plus-sized person and is not standard sizing. I am returning this nightgown.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Bean, if you think this replaces the wonderful flannel nightgown I have ordered for years, you are sadly mistaken. Who decided to take a wonderful product that everyone loved & substitute this very poor quality gown? Nothing about it is the same, material, fit, where it was made, nothing! Why do you think we shop at bean, it's because everyone else has made the cheapest product possible & we rely on you for some quality & reliability. You failed miserably here! At least let us know when a tried & true item is going away so we can order quickly before our favorite is gone forever. You did the same thing with your wonderful cotton tees! So disappointing!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Love the pockets, but too itchy! I got this for Christmas, and was so happy to see that it had pockets. When I put it on later, it was itchy, and after less than an hour, it was so uncomfortable, I had to take it off, and my arms were itchy for hours longer. I have had a flannel nightgown from LLBean for about 20 years, that is still not worn out, and the fabric is still soft and strong. My husband wanted to get me another one like it, but this is unacceptable. The new fabric doesn't even feel like cotton, feels more like cheap acrylic. I tried laundering it, which reduced the itchiness slightly, but for the price, this shouldn't have to be broken in. I am returning it for full refund.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Scratchy, peelingGeorgi and Very disappointed I bought 3 of these flannel night gowns. I have bought LL Bean flannel night gowns for over 10 years. I don't know why they changed the design. The gowns with collars help to keep your neck warm. These do not. These nightgowns are very scratchy on your skin and the flannel peels. I shook a lot of peeling flannel out of them when I first got them. After washing before I wore them, they still are peeling flannel and scratchy. I can not wear these because they are so scratchy on my skin. These are not the same flannel gowns that LL Bean usually makes. Certainly not the same soft smooth flannel. I will be returning all 3 today. I am so disappointed with these gowns.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful new style! Dear LLBean, I have been a happy LL Bean customer for many years, and have never had any reason to write a negative review before this. WHY, OH WHY, did you change the style of your old tried and true flannel nightgowns???? This new version with pin-tucks over the chest is not only very unflattering, it is also not warm (with no collar), and the pockets are very uncomfortable if one sleeps on one's side. Who needs pickets in a nightgown? Not me. The fabric is not the same either, it is thin. If you want to keep your customers, PLEASE bring back the old version! I'm sending these back!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from new design very disappointing I have been buying this item for several years, and I love the four I have. HOWEVER, the design has been changed since I bought those and I did NOT know it. I just ordered another and do not like it at all. It has no collar, something I was grateful for in the old design because it kept my neck warm. It is also so long it drags the ground, unlike my other ones. And the cuffs are so wide, they do not keep my wrists and forearms warm. It seems thinner and not so warm as well. All in all, the new design destroyed my favorite and warmest winter sleepwear. It is really a shame.
