Rated 4 de 5 de par Really really want to love it Bought this a few months ago for the following reasons: 1) LLBean craftsmanship withstands the test of time; 2) HUGE pockets for snacks; 3) Petite for my tiny stature; and 4) waterproof. I really liked everything about it. Now here’s what i found out: 1) you HAVE TO velcro the top - if not, leaving it open will wear away at the shoulder of the jacket; 2) it’s “slightly fitted” but the adjustable waist portion really does nothing lol. for context, im 5 ft and 120 lbs. it was still large in the waist.; 3)you must snap close the bottom and button the entire length of the jacket to ensure a windproof seal. If not, you get a wind tunnel going UP your jacket.;4) you cant wear the hood without the fur portion. If you do, it’s like 4 inches of hood is missing and doesnt fully cover my head. However, i would still recommend this jacket. It really is pretty darn warm and the waterproof and and pockets are fantastic. Sigh. I really really really wanted to love it.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Warm, waterproof, generous hips Warm and cozy, slightly fitted coat. Excellent waterproofing. I got this coat because it is slightly flared below the waist. I am a classical pear shape, and my top half is a medium, but my bottom half is much larger. I think LL Bean puts my butt in the "extra large" category--about 45"--still, I got a large and it fit well. It could have been smaller up top for me, but it isn't horrible. (Sigh. Pear is a common shape. It would be nice if there was a clothing line for us.)

Rated 5 de 5 de par Womens maine mountain parka Fabulous worth the price. Fits perfect and comfortable. The zipper works great. Has roomy fabulous pickets in all the right places. And it is toasty warm, keeps the wind out and sheds water. The hood is long enough to wear even with a hat.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Warmth in the Arctic Circle I contemplated for a while what coat to bring with me to nirthern Norway where i would be spending nights chasing the Aurora Borealis and days on ferries (which proved to be the most frigid adventure) and tours into the mountains. This coat kept me warm and toasty. Thank you LL Bean for not disappointing me yet again!!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Several people have stopped me to ask the brand! So warm. Happy, happy. Great color, deep pockets. Tricky zipper at first, but easily learned.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Performed well in Alaska I bought this coat to wear for a trip to Anchorage and Fairbanks in March. Temperatures ranged from 20F to -1F. This coat performed well overall. It kept me warm and I was able to move around in it. I am not sure how it would do with heavy wind but it did okay with the moderate wind we experienced. I do agree with the other reviews that the pockets placement is low. I have long arms so for me, they were fine but I could see how the pocket placement could be awkward for many.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Love this parka! This parka is exactly what I wanted. It is so warm, a great length (as a tall girl that is huge for me), and very stylish. The only thing that is a slight downside is the zipper can be a bit challenging and get stuck. But overall I love everything about this parka.
