Men's Storm Chaser Slip-On Shoes with Arctic Grip is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 103.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoes! I heard about Vibram's Arctic Grip soles a couple of years ago and my initial thoughts were that it may be a marketing scam (glass in the soles!). Tired of falling on my keister in Upstate NY winters, I tried a pair of shoes with Arctic Grips soles from a different manufacturer (begins with and M and rhymes with Carroll). The soles were unbelievable! No more falls! The shoes advertised as waterproof were another story. My feet would get sopping wet in no time at all. Got these LL Beans's this year and they are great. Still not falling and my feet stay dry. This was my first pair of slip ons. Took some getting used to, but I really am enjoying not having to tie my shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Storm Chaser Shoe I've used a lot of shoes and boots over a span of 65 years of hunting and fishing. This product is too good to be true. In the slush and snow it is very safe, waterproof, and keeps you from slipping. It is comfortable beyond belief. I got them originally as a driving shoe and camp shoe but the darn things are so comfortable I've even been wearing them to work!! I truly believe they are one of the great shoes I've ever owned. It is very rare to find a product that is better than advertised but this is one of them. Thank You!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Storm Chaser with Arctic Grip My arthritic 75 year old finger managed to tear out the loop on the right heel of one boot while putting it on. I bought a 24 inch shoehorn, which solved the problem. The reason for not returning the boots is that I really like the "Arctic Grip" soles, and need them NOW. My present state of decrepitude necessitates having shoes and boots without laces. To sum it up, I'd like to see the front loop eliminated. Then attach a larger rear loop SECURELY. I like everything else about the boots, especially the "Arctic Grip" feature.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Artic Grip - Not Grippy on Ice I received these shoes within the last month. Like all LL Bean shoes, they are well made. They fit well. They are warm. I wear them anytime there is snow or ice underfoot. The Artic Grip "technology" is, candidly, just a gimmick. The grip does not provide any more traction on ice than any other LL Bean boot. We recently had an ice storm here in Massachusetts. I wore these boots while walking my dog and running errands. These DID NOT provide any increased traction on ice - particularly wet ice. The traction is good in snow. If you want to be certain of your footing in icy conditions, you should get a set of Yak Trax or Nano-Spikes. I am only giving these a two-star rating because the Artic Grip doesn't grip on ice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe for snow Sizing surprised me on this shoe. I have a pair of LL Bean Camp Mocs in size 9 that are a little big for me so I got the same in these shoes, thinking it'd be a good fit. Turns out I had to size up on these to 9.5 (what I wear in athletic shoes) and they fit perfectly. I've had a chance to wear these in snowy weather now (taking out the trash, walking from my car to a store, shoveling snow, etc.) and the shoes have performed admirably. I can't vouch for the arctic grip yet, but I also haven't actively gone out looking for icy spots to test these shoes on. I anticipate getting lots of use out of these boots!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too small I have shoes that are 11.5, 12, and 12.5 that all fit about the same so there is obviously much variance in shoe/boot manufacturing. That said, I purchased these intending them as a gift for my elderly father-in-law who (also wears a 12) and tried them when they arrived only to find I could barely get my foot in the opening and once I did my toes were very crammed. Very uncomfortable and certainly no way to wear with a thick sock. Returned immediately. They appeared well made and the traction sole would've been a plus for him on Minnesota ice.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Would be a good shoe at $100. I have used these shoes for two months now and have gone through a North Dakota cold spell (some days with a high of -10°F). I have had warmer shoes for less money. And I have slipped on snow covered ice and wet ice. Although if they did stop me from slipping I was not aware of it and thus did not know that they were doing their job. For the $139 that I paid for them, I feel they are overpriced for their average warmth and supposed slip resistance. Would not recommend at full price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for a Minnesota winter I have had these shoes for 3 weeks now and there has been ample cold, icy, and snowy weather in MN to test them. Happy to report that the shoes keep my feet warm, snug, and dry. The grip appears to be quite good with no slipping and sliding. Plenty of room inside even with heavy socks. I am a size ten and purchased a ten. Only comment is that the opening is snug and I had to use a shoe horn the 1st 2 weeks to get the shoe on, Now that it has loosened up a bit I can get the shoe on just by grasping the loop on the heel. The shoe fits well and does not appear loose while walking.
