Men's L.L.Bean Chelsea Boots, 7" Tumbled Leather is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 77.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but . . . . I normally wear a size 8/5 or 9. Size 9 was much too big so I got a size 8. It's a touch too small--a bit narrow. I am going to go with it and hope they break in, but I wish they had half sizes. Also, there is an edge between the rubber lower and leather upper. This is uncomfortable. Nature of the shoe I guess, but know what you are getting. And the shoe feels spongy, not a fan of that feel. I will be using these a lot more in the fall and winters--it is summer now--so we'll see. They were back ordered and it took months to get them. Overall, it is a quality shoe and attractive, but I wish it was more comfortable and fit better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terribly designed Not sure if anyone at LL Bean has actually tried these boots on before deciding to ship them out. They definitely fit very large, so I ordered a size down (I'm a men's 9 so I ordered an 8). The rubber part of the boot around my foot fit just fine, but the leather upper around my ankle was absurdly large: not big enough to tuck your pants in, but way too big to get your pants over and around it. Also: your ankles have zero support. Tried them on when they arrived and immediately wrapped them up and sent them back. I've worn the normal bean boot for years, so in comparison these are just... bad. Do not buy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fix the sizing problem I am a huge LL Bean fan and have been wearing the hunting boots for 30 years. The boots last well. I wanted to get the Chelsea boot as convenient in and out boot for winter clean up and around camp. I read about the size problems with these boots and was very cautious to order correctly I followed the sizing recommendations but the boots are received were too big. I then tried a full size smaller but they were really too tight. I really wish Bean would solve this sizing problem... it is much too confusing and not characteristic of the quality I have come to expect from LL Bean

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Slippery when wet Pros: Great construction. good fit as long as you follow LL Bean's instructions. Comfortable. Look nice. Cons: And this is why I give them 1 star. They have zero grip on wet smooth surfaces such as tile. I had a pair 30 years ago and they had the same issue. I had hopes they had chaged their boot rubber chemistry but they have not. The pair I just bought have the same issue. I have other boots that have no issues on any surface wet. I cant even walk through my kitchen when they are wet on the soles. These boots are made to be wet, hence the name "duck boots", but what good is a wet boot if they have no grip? The boots have good grip on any rough surface when wet, but what boot/Shoe doesnt?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The top of Boot is way big I have been ordering boots for almost 30 years. But These bean Boots (I ordered 2 pair and both my son and husbands fit terrible . The top of the boot is so wide you literally could put your foot in and fit a tennis ball in the top of the boot...I never saw anything like it. Honestly, I think they were defects that got sent to me. and now the hassle of sending them back. Im leary about ordering them again. They were just really that bad. Love LL Bean, I grew up with bean boots since I was 8 but these boots were just way weird. sorry...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful After shopping and having a few pairs of LL Bean boots I thought these would be a great option. After ordering the same size as all of my other boots I got these and they slip on the heel. You can never get a normal fit. To go along with that the insides of these boots are so stiff that they rip your feet up. I have received cuts and blisters from these boots. Very disappointed they should make these with better padding in the inside. This experience could make me not shop with them again. Very disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bad Sizing on a great Boot I own more footwear than I care to think about and every pair of boots, shoes, sandals etc.. is size 13 with the exception of these boots. They are a 12. I am not sure why LL Bean can not get the sizing on these in line with every other footwear manufacturer know to man. That said.... They are great boots that are well constructed. The insole is a little weak given there price point. I put a Super Feet insole in to replace the factory one and that made a big improvement. I would definitely recommend these just be sure to get a full size smaller than what you wear.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No Size Fits I have 3 pair of Bean boots. All size 11. All great. had them for years. One pair was my fathers, so they go back 20 years. I thought these slip ons would be a good addition. I read the size guidelines and ordered size 10 on Dec. 3.They arrived quickly. To big, even with a medium boot sock. I returned them and exchanged for a size 9. I didn't realize that an exchange takes a long time. The size 9's arrived yesterday, Jan. 3. they are way to tight even with a single cotton sock. They are being returned. I'm not sure what the issue is with these. There doesn't seem to be a size that fits.
