Rated 5 out of 5 by from my son LOVES them I have a very picky son. When he said he loved these pants I ordered two more in the next size up. He is very particular about his clothes being slim fitting, but not "skinny." He is about 4' 7" and 70 lbs. I ordered the size 8 which fit perfect right now, but are borderline too short. The size 10 looks right to me, but he's still rocking the 8's. We call this his "uniform" and it's held up well to repeated washings with very little pilling. Soft fleece lining too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice looking & comfortable but.... I bought three pairs of these pants for my son last year on sale and he liked them so much I bought two more pairs recently. My son has a narrow build and is thin. These pants are nicely tailored for a skinny kid. While the pants are comfortable and stylish I would not recommend them for sports. The first time my son wore these new pants and slid in PE class it put a hole through the knee. I'll repair it but it is very annoying that it wore so poorly. I would suggest that L.L. Bean reinforce the knee (iron knee) like some other brands do on kids pants.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from new wider cut, too generous in the thigh My son has been wearing these almost exclusively for years -- unlike most sweatpants they were a great fit for a kid on the skinny side. The knees do wear out if the child is rough on them but we expect that after a year of constant wear and accept it given the benefit of comfort. Sadly the sizing has changed noticeably in the last year or 2. The new size 12s are 1/2 inch longer on the inseam and 1-2 inches wider in the thighs. The old cut was a much better fit for an athletic, slim boy. The new sizing is bulky and baggy, and even worse instead of having straight, athletic-cut legs they have a curvy hip and upper thigh cut into the fabric. We noticed a similar change in the sizing of the 10s. Please, please LL Bean consider offering these in a slim fit again (or maybe an option for both slim and husky fit?).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect cold weather pants! My son told me that he was freezing at school at recess. So I went on a mission to find pants that don’t overheat him in the classroom but keep him warm outside. These were perfect. Wash well too! Highly recommend. 11yr. Tall, but skinny. We purchased 10’s and 12’s in every color; kept the 10’s. The 12’s were just too big. A little pricey, but worth it to keep your kiddos warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Repeat Purchase 3 Years Running The very best, hardest wearing kid's pants ever. Full stop. We wash and wash, spot clean, and hang them up to dry, and the colors still stay bright and the fabric doesn't pill or fuzz up. And if your kiddo does somehow manage to put a hole in the knee, the fabric doesn't fray or tear larger, so they are super easy to do a quick mend with a needle and thread, even for a non-sewist like myself. (The craft stores, etsy, etc also have super cute patches too!) We like the current colors well enough, but being three years on at this point, we would take a new color or pattern if you came out with something new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent My son, like many other 11-year-olds, prefers to avoid jeans and is more comfortable in just about anything else. But he's tall and very skinny and it's very hard to find pants that fit both in length and in the waist. These fit the bill perfectly and also have the added warmth that his normal jogging style pants don't have. We live in northern IL so these work well on winter days that are not sub-zero and are the best fit I have found for him. Also, these are great quality. I will definitely get more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best pants Bought again in the next size up and passed the smaller size down to little sister. Great gender neutral and comfy pants! Hold up well - after 2 seasons of wear, are still in great shape. More stylish than regular sweats, and better than. cotton for outdoor/winter play. Girls/boys models (we have both) nearly interchangeable - fit the same, just little details are different - so no worries buying either based on color preferences.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Need tough knees My son loves these pants and I was bummed when the pair I bought him a few months earlier had holes in the knee. I re ordered and not one month later this set now also have holes. Very upset and trying to figure out how to get my money back. I love LL Bean but these seems to be made too thing
