Men's Ridge Runner Storm Hunting Jacket is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great jacket! I used this jacket for an 8 day elk hunt in Snake River area of OR @ 6-7K ft. Temperatures were 8 degrees to 24 degrees. Snow and wind every day. Walked about 4-8 miles per day. It performed excellently. Vents are perfect for walking. It could be just a bit warmer. I wore a heavy 1/4 zip polar fleece base layer when walking, and when sitting I pulled my 750 fill down jacket out and wore it under this jacket. If you're sitting you will need a warm layer underneath. Couldn't be better for walking/stalking type hunting. Wish it had zippered pockets on the inside. Also it needs a two way zipper.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tightf fit not relaxed fit. Disappointed that it does not have a two way zipper--especially for the price. This imported product was described as relaxed fit. It is anything but that. Runs small and that will be problematic for anyone who hunts in cold climates. Layering will be problematic. Shoulder room is minimal. Storage pockets are a nice item but would be of minimal use because of the tight fit. Thinking of returning it. Not what I usually get from LL Bean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet ideal shell I wore this coat on a six day moose hunt to Alaska. With lots of hiking and climbing followed by long periods of sitting and glassing, the Ridge Runner lived up to its promise. When hiking, unzipping the vents helped control overheating. When stopped I was able to cool down without being chilled by the constant wind. When it got cold I needed only one or two light layers. The jacket insulates very well. One caution- order one size up to allow for adequate room for layers and shoulder room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whoah! I have been re-gearing my hunting clothing and decided to drop some coinage on this beauty, all I can say is whoah. I'm no skinny man, 6ft 3in, all 250lbs of it and XL Tall fit's perfectly with some room for layering. Granted I don't live in the north and does get cold down where I'm and needed something for the winter hog hunts and when mother nature decides to be 70 one day and 20 the next, my luck the cold days are on my day's off so needed a good shell and that's what I got! Ton's of pockets! The fabric on this is soft and doesn't even feel like a shell, that's important because that means no sound for hunting when your twisting or getting ready to fire. Don't be afraid to drop coinage, good quality is what you're getting, my only gripe is that it's not made in the good ol usa!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Jacket Was tired of other jackets ripping on brush. This one is reasonably light and flexible, but it takes abuse well. It is also excellent in wind and rain. Mine gives the sensation of leaking at the shoulders in cold rain, as it isn’t heavily lined; however, it does not actually leak. The elastic around the hood closure in front does get damp in a hard rain. Fit is great for me, but consistent with other reviews, it is not big in shoulders. It layers well for me with a vest but not a full base layer. Overall, this jacket is far better than others I have had.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much better than the competition I looked at some other jackets on the market, and this is by far the nicest jacket I've found in this price range. I'm super impressed with the quality. It really looks like a lot of thought and love went into the design of the jacket. I am very excited to get to use it this deer season. I may edit this review and give a report after the season is over.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sizes Small Perfect Some Conditions Pockets I measured my chest according to the charts. I should have been able to fit the XL. But it didn't fit in the chest at all. My big belly not at all. If I tried to reach out or lift my arms I felt like I was all tied up. I needed an XXL and it still felt just little tight. It favors people with less stomach bulge. With more wear it might get better. I also disagree with the "soft, quiet" description". It is stiff tough canvas like material (outer shell). If you are a bowhunter like me with a deer just 10 yards from your deer stand sniffing a scrape, that prize buck is going to hear you move your arms when you draw the bowstring. If you rub against something it will also make noise. Maybe that gets a little better with wear. However if you are gun or crossbow hunter in rough country or woods and rainy weather this really is the outer shell for you. The multiple zipper pockets are very nice. The very large pocket with zipper in the back could hold small game or additional gear for extended stay in the field. Tall objects fit nicely tucked in 2 inside pockets on either side of the zipper up front but yet the lower part of the pocket is easily reached. Hard to describe but a great asset. The multiple zippers have tough string tags so you don't struggle to find a tiny little tab. I didn't like the thickness of the collar when the hood was zipped up inside so I prefer the hood just hanging out. However I would consider it just another nice built in option. So for some hunting conditions this is the right tool. I highly recommend this outer shell depending on situation. Just not for the bow hunter with a great need for close up ultra quiet easy movement in front of a large eared sensitive monster buck who is a ghost at night all year until that one day during the rut when he comes out in daylight.
