Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best coffee evah!!! Having owned a multitude of coffee makers from electric perc, glass stove top perc, to drip style and even a cuisinart wake up to coffee system that started smoking from the bottom and had a terrible electrical smell as I entered my kitchen one morning, I found myself going back in time to when making camp coffee was an experience and the taste was like no other. I was so happy when this beauty arrived in the mail. I never start with a pot of fresh cold water, but rather a pot of fresh hot water. I can have the best tasting camp coffee in less than ten minutes! We have made hundreds of pots of delicious coffee from this and I expect it will still he going strong hundreds of pots in the future! Best coffee pot evah!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Percolator I liked this percolator. Everyone at our solar eclipse camping trip (in central Oregon) agreed that the coffee was excellent. Be sure to use coarsely ground coffee. We also inserted a filter. On the other hand, this is no way a '14-cup' percolator. I compared the volume to our "12-cup" Mr. Coffee and it only held "10 cups" by Mr. Coffee standards. I had read the reviews and hoped to at least get the "14-cup" 6-oz cup, as suggested by others, but I used a measuring cup and total volume came to 50 oz. We had 5 coffee lovers on that trip and we had to make 2-3 pots every morning. That was a big disappointment. If you purchase with that knowledge, you will be happy. I expect we will get lots of use out it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coffee snob I researched coffee percolators and this has it all. First, it has a glass top, not plastic. Second, it is all stainless steel including the interior parts, not aluminum like most other designs. Percolating makes richer, fuller coffee unlike once thru drip makers and you determine the amount of coffee used unlike the gross plastic predetermined packages of the automatic coffee makers. One word of caution, the bottom of this is designed to be used either on a gas stove or outside fire. It has a recessed bottom so I do not think it will work well at all on an electric stove top. Also, it does take about 15 to 20 minutes to brew but if you want better tasting coffee than once thru you will have to invest a few more minutes. In the summer I use the side burner on my outside gas grill. This does not heat up the kitchen and coffee tastes even better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Real Cowboy Coffee Pot Love the Pot overall been using it for about four months. Classic profile is really nice. The stainless is durable and should hold up over time. Makes a good cup of coffee. Two minor complaints though, the lip on the pot is a little sharp and you could cut yourself when washing it if not careful. Also i changed out the glass knob with one of my spare Bosemen knobs due to the corse hard to use threads on the original.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rich coffee flavor Love this coffee pot. We live in Florida and have lots of Maine family and friends spend time with us. Everyone always wants to know how we make such great tasting coffee. The old fashioned way. Coffee is hot, brewed to perfection. This pot has a glass knob unlike those sold in other stores. It is the perfect size for 2-6 people. Strong and Durable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Seems fairly well built, but no measurement lines At this price point, it's extremely disappointing to find that there are no measurement lines inside the pot telling you how much water you've put in it. I'm going to continue using it for a while to see if I can familiarize myself with how much water to grinds I need, and if I like it otherwise, I'm going to keep it. But there's a very slim chance I would have bought this percolator had I known ahead of time about the lack of measurement lines in it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Large Capacity and Well Constructed = Great Value I was looking for a large capacity (i.e. > 8 cup) percolator that I could use over a conventional or camp stove. I purchased the LLBean SS percolator (~ $65), after I had already purchased a GSI 8 cup percolator (~$20). I used both of these at home and took both with me on my next camping trip. Both were functional, and I would recommend the GSI 8-cupper for anyone that is with a small group and looking for a one-time use coffee maker. The stem and basket were aluminum and the pot is ply-metal. If you're careful and treat it gently, you may get a few uses out of it. It's 8 cup capacity filled 4 coffee mugs. After using the LLBean percolator, I decided that I was either giving this GSI percolator away or throwing it out, but it wasn't worth repacking. Another member of my group had a Coleman Camping Coffee Maker (~$50). It was a thing of beauty with a glass carafe, brew basket and filter. It looked like the electric coffee maker you have on your kitchen counter and it made 12 wonderful cups of coffee. You may want to spend an additional ~$21 to get the padded nylon carrying case, to reduce your chances of damage. For my money, I found this LLBean stainless percolator to be more practical and the better value. As well as perking 14 cups more quickly, it also has a much smaller foot print, is well crafted (toss it in your camping box - no special case required) and built to last. I'm pretty sure that my LLBean SS percolator will be passed down to future campers. I can't say the same for either of the other percolators.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Makes the best coffee ever, well made with no sharp edges. Top spout doesn't fall out when pouring coffee, and 2 handles make it easy to use even with arthritic hands. Easy to clean so no worry of hidden bacteria as in coffee pots with water reservoirs. Worth the wait for your morning coffee, about 15 - 20 minutes.
