Rated 5 out of 5 by from SUPER CUTE STYLING SOFT FABRIC bought this for my elderly golden retriever. hes picky and doesnt like coats etc so i chose this for him, its super light and styled like a horse blanket with wide velcro at neck and a adjustable strap that goes under belly. the inside is fleece and the outside is a sweatshirt type fabric. he looks so cute and doesnt mind wearing it because its light. it keeps him warm on cool days but i think for colder days it may not be enough so ill be buying him the barn coat too. its not waterproof. but hes an inside dog so thats not an issue really. overall im very satisfied< he wears a XL and hes appx 80 lbs. large dog

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dachshund mix wearing it now This is our second weather fleece jacket. We had a terrier mix with thyroid issues. Poor fellow ran cold, particularly once his fur thinned as he aged. He loved his blue sweater vest. Narwhal “Wally” inherited that vest. Wally is much younger but has color dilute alopecia, bald over most of his body. He inherited the blue vest and loves it. I bought a gray vest to alternate as he wants it on when he’s awake. He has a warm blanket for night time. These vests are perfect. Insulate him enough but not too warm so he can wear them even inside. Excellent product. Washes well, too. He is 25 pounds, long and low. Medium is a good fit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No slit for leash We were so disappointed to find this jacket has no slit for attaching a leash to collar or harness. Perhaps most Bean customers have acres on which to let their dogs run, but we walk our dogs in the city where they must be leashed for safety. In 40 years of buying dog gear, I've never had to verify there was a way to attach a leash through a coat or sweater. I thought the cute little pocket was for waste bags - again, because dogs are walked. Apparently it's just a fashion embellishment. The fleece is cute, a bit small but we'd have kept this jacket if it was of any use on walks.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice sweater but a few issues The sweater itself is well-constructed and warm. The collar keeps the dog’s neck warm and dry. The issues that we’ve encountered in using this for 6 months are that the lack of a slot for a harness latch/port through which to hook onto the leash is problematic and the sweater edges curl up over time so that the sweater doesn’t lay flat. The lack of a port for the leash is almost a deal breaker for using this sweater during walks. The seam binding that is used on the sweater edges is made from a material that snags easily when contacted by Velcro (which is inevitable when putting the jacket on and off of a wiggling puppy). This impacts the overall appearance of the sweater over time even though it hasn’t yet compromised the integrity.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great quality, minor design flaws I bought this in Rustic Blue for my gangly 10-month-old puppy. While she is still pretty skinny, she's grown pretty tall and long, so I ordered her a large to grow into. The color is beautiful and I appreciate the pocket on the back, however when something of any weight is placed in it, it causes the jacket to slip off to her side. It also tends to curl up on her backside instead of laying flat, which I'm hoping will correct itself with wear. Overall, it's a great little jacket, and being that it is of the same quality as my Bean's sweater fleece, a great value. We can't wait for colder weather!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight coziness I love these coats. We recently got two goldendoodles and I bought one for each of them. I looked at A LOT of coats (and bought a lot that had to be returned because they didn’t fit). These were the easiest to fit correctly. They are easy to get on and have some room for growth. While I don’t feel they’re warm enough for the really, really cold days of our Maine winter they are a good late fall/early winter, warmer winter days and later winter/early spring coat. I want to add that the dogs look very sporty in them .... my only suggestion for an improvement would be an opening on the top for a leash (attached to a harness) to thread through.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome little sweater I don't usually buy dog clothes, but recently someone gave me a wee mutt that I noticed was shivering when I took her outside. She came with a sweatshirt, but it wasn't very thick and took forever to put her legs (arms?) through the sleeves. I was surprised at how thick this sweater is and how it literally takes 4 or 5 seconds to put it on. Just slip it over the head and press the band. It's been down to 15 out here in Colorado already and it seems to be keeping her warm. She's only 6 lbs. and the small size is slightly big on her, but the Velcro band is adjustable enough to make it work. She looks super-cool in the red and black plaid, which probably sold out within hours.....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One problem We brought home a new puppy in the worst possible weather for house training. After receiving the sweater fleece jacket we were disappointed to see that there was no opening to clip a leash into her harness. Harnesses are the usual restraint for puppies these days and that is what we use for her. The sweater fleece is still roomy enough for her that we are able to pull back the neckline and clip her leash onto the harness. This won’t work when she is full grown and we will have to cut a hole in the fleece.
